Body: 6-foot-7, 229-pound physical frame.
Pitching: Advanced. Slow-tempo feel delivery, easy effort. ¾ arm angle, consistent arm action. Strong balance point, a clean finish.
FB: 89-91 mph. (Max spin 1961; Avg 1849). Running action.
CB: 76-77 mph. Feel control, 11/5 shape. (Max spin 2116; Avg 2046).
CH: 79-81 mph. Feel control, plus fading action.
SL: 75 mph. (Max spin 2122; Avg 2122).
Long torso and long levered body with tall features. Starts from the middle of rubber with a ¾- arm slot. Small side step to an abbreviated no hand pump separation. Has easy arm action and little effort to throw. FB has some good run action, while his CB maintains consistent spin and accuracy. Murphy’s 3-pitch mix is finished with a solid straight changeup that displays late fade. Most of his pitches have good life and sink with depth in the zone. His size and fluidity shows he has the makings of a bright future as a pitcher. Prototypical look and build of what good pitchers have. He was able to repeat well and locate his pitches.

Murphy was impressive in a 4-3 win over the ProPlayer Canes. Over four innings pitched in relief, Murphy surrendered just one run while striking out three, and earned the victory for the Elite. He has a premium, proportional 6-foot-4 frame with some athleticism. His fastball sat 76-78 mph, featuring some late arm-side run. His curveball was typically 66-69 mph off an 11/5 plane and showed above-average lateral movement. Murphy starred back on day one in a four-inning relief appearance, and showed more of the same in the title game.
