TPG East

Brunsman is 6-2 with an athletic 185 pound frame that has some strength present and plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back to a wrap. Hips rotate completely with violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, quick to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path with some strength at contact and extension through the ball. Showed primarily a pull approach with the ability to use the whole field, easy gap power present to all fields with more to pull side, generates some natural carry in the gaps, exit velocity was 93. In the infield, rounds ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands, works through the ball to a clean exchange, throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, short quick arm action, position velocity was 83. Ran a 7.06 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot, shorter loose quick arm action and some effort to his delivery. Lots of deception in his delivery, shoulders are slightly downhill and very closed, lands closed with an athletic finish and some recoil. Fastball was 82-85, touching 86, with some downward angle and heavy armside run. Slider was 72-73 with good armspeed and big sharp sweeping 10/4 break to it. Change-up was 68-69 with good armspeed and a some late fade to it.

VA/DC Limited Series East

Lanky projectable frame with room to add too. Athletic fee. Nice lateral movement with confident first step. Hands are soft with clean exchange and throws have carry across the diamond. Athletic set up at the plate. Slightly open. Low leg lift load to balance. Hands are free at the plate with some bat speed and peppers the middle of the field. Had some loud doubles on the week with room for more as he adds strength. Has not been on the mound long, but showed some promise as a two-way player there. Fastball sat 81-83 and touched 84 mph from a high three-quarter arm slot. Breaking ball was inconsistent, but flashed some hard 10/4 action at 71-73 mph getting some swings and misses.
