With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Anna Rockets

Team Name: Anna Rockets
Head Coach: Kristian Althauser
Division: III
2015 Record: 24-7
Conference Record: Shelby County League, 11-1
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/3

2016 Team Strengths:

• This season we feel that our strength is the number of position players that we have back. It has been a long time since we have returned virtually all of our position players.

2016 Team Weaknesses:

• Although hopeful that some young arms will develop quickly, our only pitcher with a lot of experience on the mound is senior Alex Brinkman (BGSU), so number of varsity innings pitched by the remainder of the staff is a concern.

Coach Outlook: "We feel that this team can compete to win 20+ games again this season, compete to win a League Title, and compete to win a District Title for the 3rd year in a row."

PBR Outlook: The Rockets have the ace to compete with anyone in Division III, making them a team to watch in 2016. Anna also features talented upper and lower classmen who look to take a step forward this year. If Anna can find some arms behind Brinkman, the Rockets should have an outstanding 2016 season.

Top Returning Players:

• Luke Albers (pictured right) - OF, SR, L/L SCAL POY, MVBCA Div 3 POY
• Kain Luthman - OF, SR, R/R, Kain returns for his 3rd season as the CF.
• Alex Brinkman - P, SR, R/R - 4th season as Varsity pitcher, 1st Team selection to SCAL and MVBCA. Signed with BGSU
• Colin Wuebker - 3B/1B, JR, R/R Started all year as a SO and really became a good lead off hitter during our Tournament Run.
• Derek Coverstone - 2B, SO, S/R - Started the entire season for us as a Freshman at 2B.
• Aidan Endsley - OF/INF, R/R 2nd Team SCAL selection and 1st team MVBCA selection. Aidan started the entire season for us in the OF as a Freshman. He may split time in the INF this year as well as look for him to P some.
• Zach White - C, SO, R/R Zach started as catcher in 75 % of our games last year as a Freshman. We are expecting that to pay dividends this year for us.
