Top Performer Spotlight: 2020 OF Malachi Flaherty (Guilderland HS)

Since June 7th, our boot-on-the-ground scouting team have seen 500+ players at showcase events, including the 2019 NYS Games. Already, 100's of players have caught the eyes of our professional scouting staff, all with dreams of playing baseball at the next-level. Over the remainder of the summer I (Dan Cevette) will be highlighting "Top Performer Spotlights" on players who really stood-out and offering my "Quick-Hit" thoughts on the players.

CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT

CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT: First time seeing Flaherty was at the NYS Games last June. The frame is wiry and lean, stands 6-foot-1, 180-pounds with room for growth. He moves well evidenced by this 7.05 60, shows range in the OF with a loose easy throwing arm (79 mph with easy velo gains expected). In the box, he's wide with a smooth load, barrel has lift through the zone with consistent, hard contact. 90 mph exit velo with gap-to-gap power. Player should continue to see attention from schools as the summer fades, should see him at the 2020 Games this Aug.
