Lewiston got out to an early 6-2 lead over the Bulls.

The Beasts scored two in the second with hits from Ty Jones and Zach Socha and four in the third, but it proved to not be enough.

Beast’s pitcher Kaleb Keipert, who had battled hard only giving up three runs in four innings, faded in the fifth when the Bulls offense woke up scoring six runs to earn them the win in five innings due to tournament time limit.

The Bulls late inning attack was led by 2016 David Vinsky (Harrison HS) and Kalamazoo College commit Jordan Wiley, who both drove in two runs apiece.

Diamonds 17U vs. Central Michigan Stars

Diamonds 17U beat the Central Michigan Stars 8-6 in five innings due to tournament time limits.

This match up featured great offensive and defensive efforts from both squads. Aidan Magsig of the Diamonds 17U team lead off the top of the second inning with a hard single into left field, followed by Collin Stulpe’s (Kenowa Hills HS) rocket into right field to score a run.

Diamonds tailed three more runs in the second to take a 4-0 lead in the fourth.

The Diamonds rally was stopped with a great defensive play by CM Stars shortstop Obie Ricumstrict who made a great play on a slowly hit ball up the middle to get the Stars out of the inning.

Down 4-0 in the third, the Stars put together a five hit, three run inning to bring the score to 4-3.

The CM Stars were led offensively with strong at bats from Chase Huntey, Matt Milbourne, and Noah Ingram

Diamonds 17U struck back in the fourth with back-to-back two-run doubles by Magsig and Cade Cintorino (Kenowa Hills HS). The CM Stars added two more runs in the fourth as well but could not overcome the deficit.
