Updated OK 2019 Rankings

The PBR Oklahoma staff is constantly on the lookout for the top players in the state, and since the last update in late January, 10 new players enter the 2019 rankings.  There has been a few big jumps made along with some shuffling at the top. This talented crop of players has continued to progress with many being featured prominently on the national stage. Count on PBR Oklahoma to continue to track down the top players and provide the most information for Sooner State prospects.

Top 3

RHP/UT Kale Davis (Westmoore HS), an Oklahoma State commit climbs to the top of the list as he continues to develop and get better. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound right-hander can reach back for a low 90s four-seam or cut and run the fastball in the upper 80s. Davis also features a knee-buckling curveball that he can throw in most counts. He mixes in a changeup and slider that he throws with full arm speed as well. Davis has continually dominated lineups this spring and will most likely be a weapon immediately for the cowboys if he makes it to campus.

SS/RHP Bryce Osmond (Jenks HS) slides into the second spot. The Oklahoma State recruit is arguably the best all around athlete in the class. Those his game is not yet perfectly polished, it is easy to project him as a standout two-way player for the Cowboys and beyond. Osmond already shows elite arm strength, advanced speed, athletic and smooth defensive actions, and developing powerl from a 6-foot-3, 175-pound frame. Right now, he fits the mold of a long SS, but if he continues to put on size and strength, Osmond could make the move to third or even center field at the next level. On the mound, the right-hander pitches in the upper 80s and touches low 90s with a loose and easy arm action and flashes a slider with late depth.

3B/RHP  Wade Elliott (Deer Creek HS) a Missouri recruit, fills the third spot. Elliott has a 6-foot-1, 215-pound frame packed with strength throughout. Defensively, Elliott shows supreme confidence, moves with excellent footwork and shows soft, reliable, elite hands. He projects as a third baseman, but is athletic enough for shortstop as well at the high school level. Offensively, the right-handed hitter displays excellent rhythm in the box with fast hands, strength (99 mph exit velo), and the ability to catch up to top end velo.

The Risers
During the late winter and early spring, a number of prospects have shown they deserved to move up in the rankings. While many made a jump, a few in particular took their game to the next level.

Hayden Tallman, LHP, Owasso
The long left-hander rose 43 spots, making a big jump in velo to the upper 80s while maintaining his command and deception.

Matt Kaiser, OF, Broken Arrow
Always a high level athlete, the left-handed hitter outfielder is starting to polish up his game and is getting results. Kaisers projectable frame an athletic ability to allow him to make another jump in the near future.

Cameron Thompson, OF, Owasso
The right-handed hitter has jumped in the rankings six spots due added, size, strength, and speed, to go along with his 6-foot-2, 205-pound lean frame which has allowed him to transition smoothly to the outfield. Thompson has also became a threat to leave the yard in any direction with an all fields approach.

Notable Newcomers
Previously under the radar, a few players have popped up in a big way. Below are a few of the notables.

Hollis Huff, LHP, Norman North
The 6-foot-2, 176-pound left-hander made a splash showing mid-upper 80s velo with some command at the Pre-Season All-State Showcase in February.

Tyler Delong, 3B, Harrah
Delong was another fresh face that stood out at the Pre-Season All-State showcase. Newly refocused on baseball after choosing baseketball for a year, the 6-foot-4, 175-pound projectable frame put on a show from the left side in BP with an exit velo of 91 mph.
