6-foot-1, 165-pound physical frame. Above average at the plate, the right-handed hitter was ranked 3rd with an exit velocity of 90 mph.Begins in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then uses a toe tap. Bat speed is explosive, has an uphill simple swing plane and level finish. He produced loud contact and found multiple barrels. Line drive approach. Behind the plate, he produced a position velocity of 75 mph during throw downs; shows soft hands, a clean exchange, and consistent feet. Displayed his ability to control the run game with a pop time of 1.96-2.01. Above average flexibility and athletic setup. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.4. Fluid on the mound, used a quick arm action and a ¾ arm angle while showing consistent arm speed. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows easy effort. Showed low balance point and in line shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 75-79 mph; has arm side command and sinking action. Throws a 11/5 curveball (64-67) with control around the zone and gradual action. Has arm side command and fading action on his changeup (66-69).

Jaxson Stried: C/RHP, (2024) Buckeye Valley, OH.

6-foot-1, 160-pound. Solid during batting practice, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 86 mph. Began in a tall open stance with a smooth load, then used a toe tap. Bat speed was quick, and had a rotational swing plane. While catching, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 75 mph; has athletic feet, a clean fluid exchange, and consistent hands. He had a pop time of 2.00-2.16. Has athletic setup. Clocked a 60 time of 7.5 at the event.

Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in a tall, open setup. Smooth movements to pre-launch sequence. Rotational movement patterns with a mostly pull side approach. Turned on a few with authority.
Power: Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Max BP Exit Velocity: 85mph.
Max BP Distance: 273ft.
Field: In the outfield he plays with good tempo throughout the sequence. Looks aggressive and confident out there. Ball skills are serviceable. Also worked out behind the dish. An above average athlete back there with a solid frame for the spot. Caught/threw well, recording well above average pop times for class.
Throw: 3/4 righty with developing strength.
Defensive Projection: C/Corner guy.

Scouting Notes: There's size/athleticism to like here. Arm works. Fastball was live when in the zone. Can get erratic at times but you can see a higher velo ceiling in there. Also mixed in a more than serviceable breaking ball.
Fastball:  73-77mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1470-2068.
Curveball: 67-69mph.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1890-1994. 

Scouting Notes: Two-way prospect. Drop/drive guy to create energy down the hill. Arm is compact with above average speed through a high-3/4 slot. Good athlete with feel for the zone, filling it up with fastball/breaking ball combination.
Fastball:  73-75mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1811-2131.
Curveball: 60-61mph.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1629-1691.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Low leg kick with some incorporation of the lower half but still more left in the tank. 3/4 arm action that is late getting up.

Fastball: In the zone consistently but tended to leave bak over middle of plate.

Curveball: Near 12/6 movement with more depth over action. In the zone most of the time.

Changeup:

Pitchability: In the zone most of the time.

 


Swing Mechanics: Right-handed hitter that starts in a tall, open stance with low hand set. Double tap timing trigger with lower half.
Hit: Handsy hitter that would benefit from utilizing more lower half. Pull side tendencies in BP. Offers developing natural tools.
Power: Flashes of gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: TBD.
Field: Well above average catch and throw guy for class. Quick feet with easy release. Also looked to be an above average receiver.
Throw: Ball comes out well. Accurate thrower with strength on par for class.
