2016 RHP Justin Swecker committed to the University of Arkansas at Monticello on Saturday. Swecker had a great year for Genoa Central HS carrying the load for the Dragons on the mound as they advanced to the state tournament. The best game of the year for Swecker was the no-hitter he threw to beat Arkansas HS in a non-conference contest. Here is the evaluation we have on Swecker from the Top Prospects Games in early June.
Justin Swecker, RHP, Genoa Central HS
Swecker is a 6-foot-2 180-pound right-hander with a large frame and an average body. He pounds the strike zone with a fastball of 83-85 mph with slight arm side run. He complimented his fastball with sharp slider thrown 71-74 mph. Mechanically he is sound and does a good repeating his delivery allowing him to be a consistent strike thrower. He uses a clean arm action from an H ¾ arm slot. Overall Swecker is an advanced right-hander who projects to throw harder as he gets stronger and more athletic.
