Bay Area Open - Stat Leaders

Laney College, Oakland, CA - Players from the 2020-2024 classes took part in the open pro-style workout with PBR scouts on hand to evaluate players and record their stats while going through the workout. Today we break down the statistics gathered from the event, looking at the top performers in each category.

Top 60-yd Times:

Players ran a 60 yard dash in the workout from a base-stealing start position (hand started, laser stopped). The top 60 yard dash times are below.

Top Exit Velocity:

Offensive players took live BP on the field allowing scouts to see the ball fly off the bat. In the cage prior to BP, players worked off a tee with a radar gun reading the exit speed of the ball off the bat.  The top exit velocities are below.

Top Positional Velocity - Infielders:

All infielders (2B/SS/3B) took ground balls at SS, with balls hit at them, to their left and to their right. Below are the top recorded arm strength numbers from the event. 

Top Positional Velocity - Outfielders:

All outfielders took ground balls from RF with throws to 3rd base and home plate. Below are the top recorded arm strength numbers from the event. 

Positional Velocity - Catchers:

Catchers showed off their footwork, receiving and catch and throw skills with pop times to 2nd base, block and recover drills and bunt recovery drills. Below are the top recorded arm strength numbers from the event.

Pitchers threw controlled bullpens for the PBR staff.  Each player was able to work through their normal sequencing while showcasing their command and stuff.  Below are the top fastballs from the event.
