Mid-Atlantic Summer Championship: Day 2 Notes

This weekend, PBR Tournaments is hosting the first annual Mid-Atlantic Summer Championship at Virginia Sports Complex in Ruther Glen. 15 teams across two age brackets are taking part in the tournament, with each team playing 4 games on Friday and Saturday before the top teams advance to Sunday's bracket play.

PBR staff will be on each field scouting for the entire tournament, look for Twitter coverage from the VA/DC Staff as well as members of the PBR Tournaments staff who will be on site as well. Videos and stats will be taken, highlighting prospects that stood out to our staff.

Here are some Notes on players who stood out during Day 2 action:

Rawlings A's Prospects

-Eric Mondragon (2021, Old Mill, MD) had a nice day defensively and at the plate for Rawlings , showed nice athleticism and projection. Fastball was 75-77 and curveball was 68-69.

-Northwestern (MD) 2021 Elijah Tyler was 76-77, slider 66-67, frame has projection.

-Howard (MD) 2021 Van Switzer was 74-76 on the mound.

-Garrett Griebel (2022, Kent Island, MD) has an interesting skill sett on the offensive end. Left-handed hitter, short, quick swing and some strength in hands. Gap-to-gap type hitter and showed real nice feel for his barrel. On the mound, fastball was 76-79, curveball was 66 with tight late break.

-Tyler Titus (2022, Queen Anne's, MD) has a physical frame with present strength offensively. Arm Bar load with weight shift back. Level path at the plate with some pop to the pull side. Stung some balls very well throughout the tournament. On the mound, was 76-78 with breaking ball 64-66.

-Thomas Loughry (2022, Arundel) has a projectable frame with length. Swung the bat well for Rawlings throughout he weekend and did a nice a nice job behind the dish.

-Colton Adams (2022, Severna Park) came in and closed out their final game for Rawlings and brings with him a ton of intrigue. Long, loose arm action that shows some whip and more in the tank as delivery gets more consistent. Arm works and velo should follow with time. Was up to 76 on the day.

-Arundel (MD) 2022 RHP Garret Kuhn was 72-74, curveball 61-63.

 

Virginia Breeze 16U

-Liberty (2020, Liberty Bealeton) 3B/C Colby Neal continued a strong offensive weekend, driving multiple balls. Pitched well in his start in their game, was 82-83, topped out at 84. 70-73 breaking ball.

-Halifax County 2021 LHP Jaxson Lloyd 74-77 with a big slow curve that was 60-63.

-Roanoke Rapids (NC) 2021 3B/RHP Bennett Liverman was 74-75 on the mound.

-Cam Belter (2020,Southampton Academy) showed some strength at the plate with a short swing. Gap to gap type hitter.

Titus Sports Delaware

-Oxford (PA) 2022 RHP Ryan Dewees showed good stuff and potential despite a rough outing, working 78-79 early and touching 80. Curveball had some spin and was 64-65. Lot of upside.

-Oxford (PA) 2022 RHP Timmy Haftl has a lanky frame with a ton of projection and was 72-75 with his fastball, slider was 61-64.

-Appoquinimink (DE) 2021 Keegan Miller was 74-76 with fastball, curveball was 64. Also showed a short swing from left side.

Complete Game Sox

-Michael Gregos (2021, Daniel Boone, PA)has present strength at the plate with power to the pull side. level path with uphill finish. Hit a home run on the day and another that just missed foul.

-Spring-Ford (PA) 2020 RHP Justin Calvarese was 77-81, touching 82 with tight breaking all at 72-74

-Phoenixville (PA) 2021 RHP Michael Memmo was 75-78. Slider had feel at 65-67.

TailorMade Mizuno 2021

-Stafford 2020 IF/RHP Jimmy Baker was 70-73 on the bump, curveball was 59.

-Mountain View 2021 SS/RHP Evan Hamill continued his strong weekend at the plate early. Also got on the mound in relief of team's fourth game in two days and was 80-84, with a hard slider at 73-74. Struggled with command but looked gassed.

-Brooke Point 2021 OF Ryan Bellamy also continued his outstanding weekend at the plate, barreling multiple balls, with exits of 85 and 89 on bases hits between the gaps.

-Stafford 2021 OF/RHP Hunter Eutsler stung a few balls at the plate and was 73-77 on the mound, touching 78. Curveball was 66-68.

Stars Baseball 15u Ferrick

-C Jayden Hill (2022, Paul VI) showed very well behind the dish defensively with a projectable frame. Nice bat speed and solid foundation.

-IF Ryan Fyvie (2022, Patriot) also shows a lot of projection in his frame and nice foundation in his skill set, especially at the plate. Shorter swing with quick hands and gap hitter. Nice balance and looks like could grow into a solid offensive prospect.

Richmond Braves 15U National

-Langley 2022 RHP Scott Coker was 77-80 with some run. Curveball was 66-69.

-Lee-Davis 2022 SS/RHP Ethan Serrano was 75-77, touching 78 on the mound, curveball was 63-64.

-Brookville 2022 1B Kevin Breimann has a mature physical frame and a quick bat with a ton of power.

-Kaden Hillburger (2022, Tabb) hits from an athletic set up at the plate, quick hands, nice rhythm offensively. Threw well on the mound with arm strength and feel for the strike zone.

-Tucker Love (2022, Tabb) has nice athleticism in the middle of the infield, moves well with clean hands. Short swing at the plate who keeps his hands inside the ball. Nice bat speed and rhythm at the plate. One to keep an eye on.

-Bennett Shealor (2022, Blacksburg) is another nice catching prospect for the national team. Sold defensively with a quick exchange and arm strength. Showed pop at the plate with nice balance and athleticism. Higher ceiling. 

-Tabb 2022 RHP Kaden Hilburger was 74-76, topping out at 77. Curveball was 65-66.

Richmond Braves 15U American

-Spotswood 2022 SS/RHP Luke Keister made some athletic plays at short, showing range and reaction time as well. 

-Menchville 2022 RHP/SS Michael Gorbett was 74-76, touching 78, slider at 68-70. 

-North Stafford 2022 RHP Keenan Fulwood was 73-74, touching 75. Curveball was 66. Battled and held Breeze to 1 run in a long outing.

-St. Anne's-Belfield 2022 OF/LHP Nolan Bruton was 67-69 with his fastball.

-Nansemond Suffolk Academy 2022 1B/LHP Tyree Claxton was 65-66, curveball at 53.

-North Stafford 2022 3B/RHP Cody Arndt was 69-72 on the mound.

-Brookville 2022 3B/RHP Reid Driskill was 75-77 on the mound.

Richmond Braves 14U American

-Rappahannock 2022 RHP  Wyatt Bunch has a lot of projection left to his frame. He sat 77-79 with a curveball that was 59-60.

-Glen Allen 2023 SS/RHP Terrence Rhodes continued his outstanding weekend at the plate.

-Oakton 2023 3B/RHP Zach Danielczyk was 71-74, curveball was 60-62.

South River Seahawks

-Patuxent (MD) 2022 OF/RHP Nathan Robey was 73-74, curveball was 60.

-Northern (MD) 2022 C Zach Crounse showed a quick release and accuracy behind the plate.

-Patuxent (MD) 2022 Jeff DeLair was 77-79 touching 80. Longer, free arm action with easier effort. Showed two breaking balls, used his 63 mph curve a lot more then showed a 69 mph slider type pitch as well. 70-71 change up with fade.

BCC Prospects

-RHP Grady Wiley (2022, Whitman) has a lanky projectable frame wth a short arm action. hides ball well and jumps at hitters. Was up to 78 and more in the tank. Curveball was 62-63 and change-up was 69-70.

-Wootton (MD) 2022 Brady Weiss was72-74, curveball came in at 63-64.

RBI Prospects 15u

-Avery County (TN) 2021 Noah Rosato is a large human with a short quick bat from the left side.

-Greeneville (TN) 2022 RHP Weston Brooks was 68-69, touching 70 from a low slot with heavy sink. Slider was 58-61.

-Dobyns-Bennett (TN) 2022 Peyton Grimm was 66-71 with his fastball.

-Happy Valley (TN) 2021 LHP Travis Whitson has a projectable frame and was 77-79, touching 81 with hard late run. Late breaking slider that was 72. Also put a few good swings on the ball.

-Daniel Boone (TN) 2022 Hudson York was 74-76.

Virginia Breeze 15u

-Manchester 2022 RHP/1B Camden Nuckols had a big two-way first game. At the plate he showed power from the left side and stung the ball twice, going for an RBI single and a deep RBI double. On the mound, he was 74-78 early in the game, actually adding a tick as the game went on and working 78-79, touching 80 in the fourth inning. Showed a change at 70, slider at 68-69, and curveball at 62-66. Good strong athletic frame.

-Colonial Heights 2022 RHP Brandon Barlow is very lanky with projection to his frame. His fastball was 74-77 and he showed a curveball at 59. 

-South Central (NC) 2022 Alex Bouche came in to close the game out and was 79-80, touching 82 with the fastball, curveball was 70. Bouche also showed some batspeed and power at the plate, tagging a few balls to deep left.

-King George 2022 RHP Kyle Reviello was 77-79 with his fastball, showed hard diving changeup at 69.
