The Mississippi Class of 2023 rankings have been released. We have been canvassing the state to meet coaches and players, watching them play in showcases and learning more about them as we put our calendar together for a much anticipated Spring season coming up.
Our top player is Kaden Irving 2023 RHP Gautier HS. A game controller on the mound with a fastball sitting in the 83 MPH range, he works his 67 MPH curveball in well to keep batters off balance. At the plate Kaden hits 93 in exit velocity.

Scouting Report
Kaden Irving: Gautier High School, Class of 2023; 6-foot, 215-pound athletic frame; RHP/3B. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 93 mph, showing his strength and power ability. Started in balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a leg kick before his swing. Bat speed was explosive, exhibited an upward swing plane and a level finish. Used a drive the ball approach in his path. While in the infield, showed ability to throw up to 75 mph across the field; displayed soft hands, a natural exchange and quick footwork. Uses athletic movements laterally. Had a long arm action and a low ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.34. On the mound, he produced a fastball that came in at 80-83 mph. His curveball (67-72 mph) had the most depth when he located it down by the hitter’s knees. He showed the ability to throw his changeup (69-69 mph) low in zone.
