The NCAA signing period is slated to start on November 13th. With the start of the signing period upon us, we look to break down each individual Division 1 commitment from in-state prospects, where they are headed and what tools they will bring with them.

Auburn

Werner Blakely SS / 3B / Detroit Edison, MI / 2020

Report: Blakely Jr is the number one ranked player in the class in the state of Michigan as well as a high school All American. Smooth fielding shortstop has plus range and soft hands. 90 mph across the diamond. Possess elite speed and fast hands at the plate. Left hand hitting prospect has brought a ton of MLB scouts to Detroit.

Clemson

Noah Stout OF / OF / Rochester, MI / 2020

Report: Stout has been one of the top prospects in the class since freshman year. Good speed in the OF with a big stick at the plate. The left hand hitting outfielder shows an ability to drive the baseball with loud contact.

Wake Forest

Parker Pilat SS / RHP / Country Day, MI / 2020

Report: Pilat is 6-foot-3, 190 pound high waisted prospect. He has good speed and baseball instincts. An above average defender at shortstop has also showed tracking skills in the outfield. Wiry frame with room for projected growth. Top of the order hitter who has sneaky power potential.

Kentucky

Nolan McCarthy SS / RHP / Portage Northern, MI / 2020

Report: McCarthy has arguably the most tools in the state. A catalyst on the Portage Northern team on it’s way to a Division 1 state title as a junior. 6.69 sixty time, 97 mph exit velocity along with 93 mph across the infield. Has also been up to 87 mph on the mound.

South Alabama

Aries Gardner OF / 1B / U of D Jesuit, MI / 2020

Report: 6-foot-3, 200 pound physically imposing true left hand prospect. Moves well for his size. In college potentially will make the move full time to corner outfield. 99 mph exit velocity.

Butler

Cameron Mallegg OF / C / Grosse Pointe South, MI / 2020

Report: Mallegg is a toolsy swiss army knife that is capable of playing all nine positions on the diamond. Started his high school career as a catcher but has transitioned to CF. Fast hands at the plate with raw power. Has posted a 94 mph exit velocity, while throwing 88 mph from the outfield and running a 6.61 sixty time.

Marshall

LeAndre Turner Jr 2B / OF / Next Level Academy , MI / 2020

Report: Turner is an explosive spark plug athlete that is a top of the order igniter. At the plate is a line drive hitter that sprays the gaps while showing the ability to occasionally leave the yard. In the field can split time in the infield as well as OF. 6.72 runner.

Air Force

Aerik Joe SS / 2B / Birmingham Groves, MI / 2020

Report: 5-foot-10, 170 pound middle infielder. An elite defender with a high IQ. Soft hands as well as above average range in the field. Right hand hitter that hits to all fields.

Xavier

Grant Stephenson SS / RHP / Algonac, MI / 2020

Report: 6-foot-2, 175 pound middle infielder. Has strong bloodlines he will join his older brother at Xavier after high school. Long projectable middle infielder with athletic actions. One of the top hitters in his conference showing increased power.

Akron

Anthony Fett LHP / 1B / Orchard Lake ST. Mary's, MI / 2020

Report: Fett is an LHP with a winning pedigree. Comes from one of the state’s top programs where he won a state title as a Junior. On the mound is a crafty LHP that understands how to pitch. Has a projectable frame with a high ceiling.
