Trackman hitter of the week: 2022 c brady bye

As soon as Bye took his first swing, he had my attention. The most compelling metric to take away from his round is that he had a Sweet Spot % of 70% while also having a max EV and average EV of 93.1 and 86.3 mph, respectively. Both of those sit in the top 5% in the country. These two numbers are important because it shows us that he hits the ball with authority consistently while also hitting them at an optimal LA (average LA of 23.45). With an approach like that, he’ll be hitting gappers consistently for extra bases.

Another interesting aspect, although with a small sample size, is that Bye was consistently hitting balls all around the zone with a similar LA. For example, a ball down-and-in would produce a similar launch angle to a ball middle-away. Despite it being a small sample size, that kind of barrel control is something to keep an eye out for in-game.

He will be a special follow this coming year as he has some major in-game potential as a powerful left-handed hitter.
