Outlook

Though it is a new look Cadet roster in 2019, do not bet against St. John's in their quest for an impressive sixth-straight WCAC championship as they have a deep and talented pitching staff along with an exciting lineup that should again contend in 2019.

The Cadets look like they have one of the deepest and talented pitching staffs in our area of coverage that will be headed up by seniors Ian Remalia and Sean Culkin. Both are impressive arms with projection still in their frames who have lively fastballs and will anchor the top of the staff. Luke Schauer (Virginia) is another impressive 2020 arm who will give the Cadets valuable innings with his fastball and breaking ball combo that is very impressive. Also adding to the depth on the mound is 2022 James Triantos who already has a power fastball in his arsenal and looks like his best years are still ahead of him. Adding to the depth of the staff will be 2020 Chris Bookhultz (Maryland) and Quin Allen. Also potentially adding to the depth will be Roberto Tan, Justin Riemer, and James Wood. There is probably someone else we forgot to mention, but the moral to the story is that this team is very deep in pitching. Keep an eye out for 2022 Jack O'Connor (Virginia) down the road as well. .

Offensively, Remalia will also be a key cog in the batting order while playing shortstop when not pitching. Riemer could potentially fill the shortstop role when Remalia takes the mound. Allen looks to be a key piece in the lineup as well as Triantos and 2019 Kyras Dawson, who is one of their more experience returners on offense. The Cadets will also feature two solid backstops in 2020 Dylan Winebrenner and 2021 Casey Gibbs. Keep an eye on two very talented 2021's in outfielders James Wood and DM Jefferson. Jefferson looks to be a top of the order stick with game changing speed while Wood has raw power in his swing to go with his imposing 6-foot-5 frame. St. John's aggressive offensive approach blends very well with the team athleticism and typically creates havoc for opposing teams.

All in all it should be another impressive year for the Cadets as they will shoot for their sixth straight WCAC championship. They get our nod for No. 2 in the Power25.
