Top 10 Profiles of 2021: No. 1 Zander Mueth

The most viewed profile of 2021 belongs to Belleville East's, Zander Mueth. The Ole Miss commit jumped to the No. 1 spot in Illinois back in May and never looked back, remaining in the top position for the remainder of the calendar year. Mueth started off his 2021 campaign on a high-note, attending the Uncerclass Invitational back in March and coming away as the top prospect in attendance. His performance also earned himself the No. 11 spot in the entire 2023 class. After missing a majority of the spring and summer due to injury, Mueth picked up right where he left off with a strong outing at Grand Park for the PBR Midwest Fall Championship, further cementing his status as the top RHP in Illinois' 2023 class. 

Standing at an extremely projectable 6-foot-5, 190-pounds, Mueth possesses one of the most electric arms in the entire 2023 class. The tall right-hander moves effortlessly down the mound, using a low-intensity delivery to produce a jumping fastball into the low 90s (T2284 rpm). Mueth's go-to secondary offering is a sharp slider thrown with fastball intent at 77-79 mph (T2367 rpm), showing advanced feel and control around the zone. Mueth uses a darting changeup in the 82-84 mph range to round out his repertoire, thrown with fastball arm-speed and showing heavy arm-side run. With the advanced control Mueth features throughout his three-pitch arsenal, it is hard to find another RHP in the entire country that is more impressive in the 2023 class.

Delivery: Advanced easy delivery, athletic, tall and fall type, smooth tempo, level shoulders, lands square, works efficiently in line with target.
Arm Action: RH. Loose arm action, 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T92, 89-91 mph. Heavy ball jumps out of hand, advanced control at bottom of zone. T2251, 2133 average rpm.
SL: 77-79 mph. 10/4 shape, advanced sharp action, tight spin, works lateral, feel for strikes. T2367, 2301 average rpm.
