Top 10 Profiles of 2021: No. 5 Alex Stanwich
December 28, 2021
Tennessee commit Alex Stanwich (Lincoln-Way East, 2022) comes in at No. 5 for the most viewed profiles of 2021. Stanwich has long been regarded as one of the top players in Illinois prep baseball, remaining in the top 5 of the class of 2022 rankings since 2019. The future Volunteer also has earned national praise from PBR and MLB scouts alike, coming in at No. 108 on our national rankings board.
The former Future Gamer has perhaps the most well-rounded set of tools in all of Illinois. Standing at a physical 6-foot-2, 200-pounds, the RHH puts on a show any time he takes batting practice. With a max exit velocity of 106 mph and 413' max distance, he has some of the rawest power in all of Illinois prep baseball. Stanwich impresses just as much on defense as he does on offense, cruising the outfield with a 6.58 60-time and max OF velocity of 95 mph, also showing highly athletic outfield actions. The Tennessee commit also is a threat on the mound, reaching into the low 90s on a high-spinning fastball (T2333 rpm).
We will see what this coming IHSA season will bring as Stanwich will look to lead a talented Lincoln-Way East club to another playoff run.

Scouting Report
Tennessee commit, currently ranked No. 1 overall in the state of Illinois. Listed at a 6-foot-1, 190-pounds, strong athletic build, right-handed hitting outfielder. Had an impressive day against No. 2 Brother Rice at the time. At the plate, has a simple swing, generating easy plus power. Strong, loose hands, working to the whole field. Went 2-for-3, with a RBI single on a curveball and hit a two-strike, home run to left-center field. Also came in to pitch out of the bullpen. Stretch-only delivery, shoulders stay leveled, lands square and athletically. Long arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball works mostly straight, sat 87-88 mph, topped at 90 mph. Sharp breaking 11/5 curveball, at 72 mph. Worked himself into a bases loaded, no outs situation in the bottom of the six. Struck out the next batter and then induced an inning-ending double play to escape the jam. Stanwich worked a three-up, three-down seventh to close out the game. One of the top 2022 prospects in the Midwest.
