Today, we’re announcing our eighth National Player of the Week of the 2024 campaign. This was a particularly competitive week for the POTW honor. Ultimately, we chose a strong senior left-handed hitter from Illinois, who amassed 12 hits and eight of them went for extra bases, including four homers that generated 20 RBIs.

The players listed below were submitted by their coaches to their states through an official ‘Player of the Week’ form, and they were awarded the Player or Pitcher of the week awards in their respective states. Kameron Yearsley OF / Yorkville, IL / 2024 “Yearsley, a John A. Logan JC recruit, is putting together one of the more impressive seasons in the state so far, and this past week was arguably his best to date as he helped the Foxes to a dominant 4-1 record dating back to April 13. Arizona

+ Ryan Dilger, RHP (Desert Ridge HS, 2024) | Chandler Gilbert CC:
“Dilger, a Chandler-Gilbert CC recruit, got the start for Desert Ridge last Tuesday and dominated once again, racking up double-digit strikeouts for the second straight game, as he sat down 13 Gilbert hitters over six innings. In the 3-1 victory, the right-hander allowed just one run on five hits and two walks. In Dilger's past two starts, he's struck out 25 hitters to just four walks over 12.2 innings.”

Arkansas

+ Greyson Westbrook, RHP/INF (Wynn HS, 2025) | Uncommitted:
“Westbrook is one the top uncommitted players in the state with his legit two-way projectability. Westbrook is up to 89 mph on the mound, with arm-side life, and an athletic arm action to go along witj an athletic swing off an uphill path. A must-see, quick-twitch two-way player in Arkansas. Last week, he was 9-for-12 with a double, triple, four steals, and he drove in eight runs. He also K'd nine batters in 4.2 innings and allowed just one earned run.”

+ Mitchell Clements, OF (Del Campo HS, 2025) | Uncommitted:
“Clements out of Del Campo High had a fantastic outing with a complete-game shutout win over Capital Christian. A complete-game shutout on its own merits would put a pitcher in the mix for a 'Pitcher of the Week' award, but Clements put the cherry on top of his performance sundae by punching out 14 hitters in his win, which by his coaches note is very likely a school record.”

+ Ryan Hubbard, C (Oak Ridge HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“Hubbard put together quite the week going 6-for-10 at the plate. Of those six hits, four of them went for extra bases, two doubles and two homers, which drove in three runs total. The performance out of Hubbard helped Oak Ridge collect two big wins in a three-game series against Granite Bay. Hubbard is an impressive '26 grad who is going to be on plenty of college coaches' radars in advance of the Aug. 1 contact window opening on his grad class.”

+ Andrew Johnson, RHP (Capistrano Valley Christian HS, 2024) | USC:
“Johnson threw an absolute masterpiece when he tossed a no-hitter in which he carried a perfect game into the fourth inning allowing just one walk while striking out 17 batters, which is a school record for an individual pitcher while running his fastball up to 94 mph in the outing. Johnson is a USC commit who has also received MLB Draft buzz ahead of this summer.”

+ Luke Armijo, LHP (La Mirada HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“Armijo, from La Mirada, faced the No. 1-ranked team both in California and in the nation, the Corona Panthers, and he put together an electric performance. Armijo went the distance against the Panthers vaunted lineup throwing a shutout while picking up six Ks on the day in the victory for La Mirada ahead of their big showdown with Gahr this week.”

+ Braden Litt, SS/1B/RHP (Temecula Prep HS, 2025) | Uncommitted:
“Litt, out of Temecula Prep, had an outstanding week of baseball. Litt went 9-for-13 on the week while crushing his fourth home run of the season which now leaves him a homer away from tying the school record in season. He added a double and a triple to his week while adding in four scoreless innings on the mound including seven Ks to help Temecula Prep to a 4-0 week.”

+ Easton Miller, RHP/OF (Fossil Ridge HS, 2024) | Air Force:
“Miller earned his second 'Pitcher of the Week' award this spring thanks to yet another dominating outing. The senior chucked a complete game against Fort Collins with 11 strikeouts, just one hit allowed, one run allowed, and walking two. Miller is headed to Air Force for college baseball after this spring, but is building plenty of momentum still in 2024 with a fastball up to 92 mph and a deceptive slider. The full season stat line on Miller is now at 28 innings pitched with 58 Ks, and a 1.01 ERA at the 5A level.”

+ Ben Knox, OF/LHP (Castle View HS, 2024) | Uncommitted:
“The Castle View two-sport athlete had himself quite the week producing three home runs, a double, seven RBIs, seven runs, and going 7-for-10 overall. The senior had a three-homer game early in the week against Highlands Ranch and he finished the matchup 5-for-5 as well. Knox is an intriguing senior who is now hitting .562 with four home runs, three triples, four doubles, and a 1.665 OPS across 59 plate appearances this spring. Castle View has one of the deepest lineups in the state at the moment, and Knox has been a big part of their production.”

“American Heritage took on Taravella last week and Holiday got the start. He threw all seven innings and completed a perfect game with no hits, no walks, no runs, and 12 strikeouts.”

+ Gavin Webb, 3B/RHP (Boneville HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“Webb, an uncommitted sophomore, was a run-producing machine at the plate this past week. The Bees went 3-0 this past week, sweeping a series against Shelley. In those three games, Webb managed to push 10 runs across the plate while going 6-for-10. The sophomore showed his power while hitting a double, two triples, and blasting a home run for the Bees. The uncommitted sophomore is having a strong sophomore campaign; hitting .356 with 14 RBIs this season.”

+ Dax Whitney, RHP (Blackfoot HS, 2024) | Oregon State:
“Whitney, an Oregon State commit, has continued to show dominance on the mound through the season. In five innings for the Broncos, Whitney punched out 14 Idaho Falls hitters and he didn't allow a single runner in Blackfoots 19-0 win. In that five-inning perfect game, he was 92-94 mph, touched 95, and allowed just one ball in play all game. Whitney holds some of the best pitching numbers across the State this year with 76 strikeouts, five walks, six hits and one earned run across 31 innings pitched.”

+ Riley Matlock, C (Southport HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“Matlock collected eight hits in 10 trips to the plate (.800) last week, and he reached base in 12 of 14 (.857) appearances. The physical sophomore catcher had six extra-base hits, including three home runs and three doubles, and he drove in 11 runs for the Cardinals.”

+ AJ Curry, OF (Ryle HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“As he has all season, AJ Curry, a sophomore at Ryle HS who moved to Kentucky from California, hit nearly everything in sight in earning this week’s honor. In five games last week (four Ryle wins), here were the left-handed hitter’s stats: 11-for-14; 3 2B, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 7 BB, 8 R.For the season, Curry is putting up video-game numbers – he is hitting .655 with 11 doubles, three home runs, and 23 RBIs and he has also drawn 19 walks and has scored 22 runs.”

“Schweitzer, a Louisville recruit, pitched Trinity HS to two impressive wins last week against ranked teams from Ohio and Indiana. On Sunday, Schweitzer threw a five-inning shutout against Massillon Jackson HS (OH) in a game he allowed just two hits while striking out nine. Then on Saturday, Schweitzer did it again, this time firing six scoreless innings and allowing just one hit with 10 strikeouts in a win over Carmel HS (IN).”

+ Grayden Harris, LHP (Central B.R. HS, 2024) | Southern Miss:
“The Southern Miss recruit saved arguably his best performance for last week in game one of the Wildcats' first-round playoff series against Zachary. Harris tossed a complete game no-hitter with only two walks and 13 Ks on 91 total pitches (63 strikes).”

+ Braylen Montgomery, OF (Walker HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“A top-5 prospect in Louisiana’s 2026 class, Montgomery was on fire during the Wildcats' first-round playoff series against Haughton last week. In the three-game series, he went 6-for-13 (.462) with two homers, a double and three RBIs, as well as four runs scored, to lead Walker to the series win over the Bucs.”

+ Charlie Gearen, 1B (Benilde-St. Margaret's HS, 2024) | Gustavus:
“The Red Knights have started the year 5-0 and Gearen has been one of the driving forces in the lineup. In Benilde's two games last week, the outfielder went 6-for-6 with a double and driving in seven runs.

He's hitting .833 on the year including seven extra-base hits (four doubles, two triples and a home run).”

“The University of St. Thomas commit added a no-no to his resume, helping the Tigers to a 7-0 win over Sibley East. Hohn threw seven no-hit innings with 15 strikeouts.”

+ Hank Eaton, RHP/INF (Kossuth HS, 2024) | Auburn:
“The Auburn recruit and former Future Gamer had a week to remember for the Aggies. In four games, which included a two-game sweep of Edwards in the first round of the 3A state playoffs, Eaton picked up eight hits in 11 at-bats with three home runs, three doubles, a triple, and 11 RBIs.”

+ Colin Flores, RHP (Bellevue West HS, 2024) | Allen County JC:
“During the previous week, the Allen County JC commit worked seven innings of hitless baseball. He took home a pair of wins against Lincoln Southwest and a five-inning no-hitter against Fremont. At 6-foot-5, Flores is an imposing presence on the mound. In 28 innings this year, he's struck out 47 with just 10 walks.”

+ Kale Fountain, 3B (Norris HS, 2024) | LSU:
“There isn't a week that Fountain does not deserve this accolade. While he's widely known for his power, his week at the plate did not involve multiple home runs. Much like philosophy made famous in 'Moneyball,' he just got on base. The LSU commit drew six walks in four games, hit himself aboard another four times (including a home run), and came around to score six times. He did not strike out in any at bat, and he swindled a pair of bases as well.

At his Super 60 appearance in February, scouts marveled at Fountain's ability to drive what seemed to be low-line drives that just kept climbing until they hit a wall at the indoor facility.”

+ Keenan Dolan, RHP/OF (Bishop Manogue HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“Dolan is one of the top junior arms in the state and he showed why this past week as he pitched a five-inning perfect game as Bishop Manogue knocked off Reed 10-0.

The former Future Gamer struck out seven of the 15 batters he faced while putting up zeros in every other stat column. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound right-hander possesses some of the best stuff in his class and impressed at the Reno Preseason ID with a fastball sitting 88-90 mph while also flashing upside on the positional side.”

“The Oregon commit has been swinging the bat well all year long as he's batting .488 with 12 doubles, three triples and four home runs through 25 games. This week was no different for Johns as he went 8-for-13 while picking up four doubles, nine RBIs, six runs scored and a walk in Palo Verde's three games.

The ProCase West attendee and Future Games alum led Palo Verde's offense as they scored 34 runs with a win over Centennial and a split with Liberty.”

+ Ethan Holliday, SS (Stillwater HS, 2025) | Oklahoma State:
“After combing through the box scores and submissions from the previous week, it was Ethan Holliday's prowess with the bat that earned him Player of the Week honors in Week seven. The OSU commit and top-ranked player in the country for the '25 class finished the week going 7-for-11 that included three homers, a double, and eight RBIs. His power bat has played a large role in the Pioneers' run back to the top of the Power 25 and he continues to show why he is going to be one of the more coveted prospects in the coming years. The ball jumps off the barrel at ease with a smooth stroke from the left side and has already shown the ability to drive the ball out of the park to all fields.”

“This big right-hander got the ball this past week and threw a gem on the night, punching out 14 batters in seven shutout innings, and he allowed just two hits and two walks.”

+ Ben Timblin, OF (Signal Mountain HS, 2024) | Wofford:
“Timblin had a very strong week at the plate for Signal Mountain where he hit .667 with two doubles and six homers. Facing district rival Cleveland, Timblin hit two two homers, and he hit another pair of homers against Red Bank. For the season, Timblin is hitting .557 with 11 doubles and 11 home runs.”

+ Joephillip Guzman, MIF (Shoemaker HS, 2025) | Alabama State:
“The Alabama State commit had a big week for Shoemaker. The shortstop had seven hits in seven at-bats, including a double, a triple, and a home run. He drove in nine runs and swiped three bags along the way as well. This past week adds to his monster season, where he is batting .552, with 32 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, three home runs, and he has struck once all spring.”

“Hill got the start against the No. 11-ranked Argyle Eagles last week. He went 6.1 Innings and struck out 10 while allowing no hits. The DBU recruit led the Mustangs to a big win to split the series against Argyle.”

Utah

+ Austin Park, SS/RHP (Juab HS, 2025) | Brigham Young:
“Park, a BYU recruit, continues to be one of the most productive high school players in the Utah, dominating both on the mound and at the dish.

This week at the dish he went 7-for-13 with a triple, three doubles, three runs scored, nine RBIs and a walk. On the mound, he worked five scoreless innings allowing just one hit and no walks while striking out six.”

+ Easton Barrett, LHP/OF (Springville HS, 2024) | Arizona State:
“Barrett is another player who continues to produce at a high-level this spring as a two-way player. The Arizona State commit took the mound on Friday against Wasatch and worked 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing no hits, two walks and struck out nine. At the dish, he went 2-for-6 with a pair of homers, four runs scored, two RBI and three walks.”

Wisconsin

+ Carter Kutz, RHP/UTL (Hartford Union HS, 2025) | Nebraska:
“Kutz has been a huge piece for undefeated Hartford Union, who just moved up our Power 25 rankings again, up to No. 9. This past week might have been his best yet, helping the Orioles to a couple Power 25 wins and spotless record.

It all started on Monday, when Hartford took on conference foe Homestead, who was ranked No. 15 in our Power 25 at the time. Kutz took the mound for the entirety of the game, holding a solid Highlander lineup to just three hits in the shutout win and he also punched out nine. He also tallied a double in the matchup, too.

Later in the week, Kutz came out of the ‘pen in a battle with Grafton and held them scoreless in his one inning of work while also striking out a pair. He also drove in two runs on a double in that matchup which speaks to his two-way prowess.

Hartford’s best win of the week came at our Prep Baseball at The Rock High School Invitational, when they took on then ranked No. 2 Monona Grove. It was a back-and-forth battle, with Hartford finding themselves up three heading into the final inning. The Silver Eagles were threatening in that inning, as they plated two runs to cut Hartford’s lead to one. With one out remaining in the game, Kutz came in to record that out and after giving up one hit, he did just that to give Hartford the huge Power 25 win to end the week. Again, his offensive abilities were on display as he doubled and singled to drive in one run for the Orioles in that one, too.”

+ Mason Roell, SS/RHP (West Bend East HS, 2024) | Uncommitted:
“On Monday, Roell and West Bend East took on a quality Slinger opponent in which he tallied two hits and three RBIs, with the most important coming late in the game. Down to their final out the Suns were down by three, Roell came up with two runners on and blasted a game tying home run to send the game into extras. He also came in on relief in the seventh and eighth inning, holding Slinger scoreless which allowed West Bend East to walk it off in the eighth inning.

On Wednesday, Roell’s hot streak at the plate continued, when he exploded for six RBIs in their matchup with defending State Champions, Whitefish Bay. He blasted a grand slam for four of his six RBIs, and also collected a pair of singles to bring in his other two, to help the Suns take down conference foe Whitefish Bay.

In their final conference matchup of the week against Nicolet, Roell did all he could to help as he tallied four more RBIs on a double and a single, but it eventually fell short as they lost a heartbreaker. Then on Saturday, Roell wrapped up his productive week with a two hit, two RBI performance against non-conference opponent, Oshkosh West, both of his hits going for doubles.

To summarize, Roell put up some gaudy numbers this past week, going 9-for-14 at the plate with three doubles, and two home runs. He finished with 15 RBIs and helped West Bend East to a solid 3-1 week, taking down some competitive opponents in the process.”
