Kentucky Hitter of The Week

This weekly award will be announced each Tuesday for the previous week’s games.

Week six of the Kentucky high school season saw mostly good weather across the Bluegrass State, leading to a large number of games played and some big offensive numbers put up by a multitude of players. As we combed through the nominations for our Hitter of The Week award, one player stood out.

As he has all season, AJ Curry, a sophomore at Ryle HS who moved to Kentucky from California, hit nearly everything in sight in earning this week’s honor. In five games last week (four Ryle wins), here were the left-handed hitter’s stats:

11-for-14, 3-2B, 2-HR, 6-RBI, 7-BB, 8-R

For the season, Curry is putting up video-game numbers. He is hitting .655 with 11 doubles, 3 home runs, and 23 RBI. He has also drawn 19 walks and has scored 22 runs.

For his outstanding performance on the field, AJ Curry has been selected as the Prep Baseball Kentucky Hitter of The Week for April 15-21.
