Scouting Report

PBR:   Tell us all about your recruitment process, when it started, and why you decided to commit to Canisius.

Yankowski:  The recruitment process started in the summer of my sophomore year. In the summer of my sophomore year, I began to target schools of interest and went to specific showcases and camps. In the summer of my Junior year, I caught the attention of the coaches at Canisius College.  I was asked to go to a PBR event at Canisius and meet with the coaches.  Canisius had the academics I was looking and I was very impressed with coaches and facilities.  After the visit is when I committed to Canisius.

PBR:   Looking at your skill-set on the baseball field, what would you say your biggest strength at the next-level will be?

Yankowski: My biggest strength at the next level will be being able to keep hitters off balance by throwing all off speed pitches for strikes.

PBR:   What’s your No. 1 priority going into the Winter in terms of getting prepared for next spring?

Yankowski:  My number one priority going into the winter will be to get stronger through lifting and conditioning. Also, I will continue to develop command of the zone and off speed pitches.

PBR:   Who is your biggest influence when it comes to playing the game of baseball?

Yankowski:   My biggest influence when it comes to playing baseball is my older brother Dan Yankowski. My older brother plays D1 baseball at UAlbany and has pushed me to become a better player through the years.

PBR:   Prep Baseball Report’s No. 1 goal is to provide players with an unrivaled platform filled with next-level exposure through events and multi-media avenues. What’s your experience been with us?

Yankowski:   My experience with Prep Baseball Report has been great! I started attending PBR events in my freshmen year and have continued to attend through my Junior year. PBR has helped me get recognized and reach my ultimate goal of playing College Baseball.
