Commitment q and a
PBR: Tell us all about your recruitment process, when it started, and why you decided to commit to Maryland.
Santos: The recruiting process started for me in the spring of my freshman HS year, after having some good outings I caught the eye of The University of Maryland’s pitching coach. I was invited to visit the university and I fell in love with the campus and its coaching staff. I am impressed with how passionate they are of their students and consider the school to be top notch.
PBR: Looking at your skillset on the baseball field, what would you say your biggest strength at the next-level will be?
Santos: If I would to look at my skill set I would say that I have a good bat and I also play a good first base, but overall pitching is my passion. So my biggest strength on the next level I would have to say is my pitching skills.
PBR: What’s your No. 1 priority going into the Winter in terms of getting prepared for next spring?
Santos: My number one priority this winter will be to stay healthy and work on getting stronger, go to the gym and work on gaining more mass. As the pitching coach from The University of Maryland once told me “mass equals gas”.
PBR: Who is your biggest influence when it comes to playing the game of baseball?
PBR: Prep Baseball Report’s No. 1 goal is to provide players with an unrivaled platform filled with next-level exposure through events and multi-media avenues. What’s your experience been with us?Santos: My biggest influence when it comes to playing baseball would be my parents. They have worked very hard and have also sacrificed so much in order to get me ready for my future in baseball. I am forever grateful and will work as hard as I can not to let them down.
Santos: Prep Baseball Report (PBR) for me is by far the best recruiting platform for exposure, from their showcases to their evaluations to their scouting reports. They are getting the results needed for High School players like myself. I am extremely grateful to have been chosen to attend one of their showcases in Indiana (Futures Game). My family and I felt that my performances at this showcase lead to The University of Maryland to want me as part of their family. I suggest that any High School player looking for a trustworthy recruiting platform to join Prep Baseball Report (PBR) and attend their events.
