Shea Sbranti
Arizona Scouting Director

As the Basha Bears gear up for the 2024 baseball season, anticipation and excitement fill the air. Under the guidance of Head Coach Eric Albright, the Bears are poised to build on the successes of the previous season, setting their sights on new heights in the highly competitive 6A Premier conference.

Overview of the 2023 Season: The Basha Bears are coming off an impressive 21-10 season, where they showcased their prowess on the diamond, finishing 5-3 in the 6A Premier conference and securing a notable 2nd place. The team's collective effort and dedication laid the foundation for what promises to be an exciting 2024 campaign.

Key Returners: The Bears boast an arsenal of top returners, each bringing a unique set of skills to the lineup. Gavin Smith, a Harvard commit and third baseman, is a force to be reckoned with, having hit an astounding .435 in his junior campaign. Landon Zaborowski, committed to Utah Valley, adds strength and versatility as a corner infielder. Cannon Albright, a middle infielder and Central Arizona commit, showcased his offensive prowess with a .321 batting average last season. Outfielder Max Madrid, committed to the University of Washington, adds power and finesse to the Bears' lineup.

While the Bears boast an impressive offensive lineup, the departure of key pitchers, including ASU commit Bradyn Barnes and right-hander Dallin Harrison, leaves a void on the mound. The challenge for the Bears will be identifying new pitching talent that can rise to the occasion and fill the shoes of the departed workhorses. It's a testament to the team's resilience and adaptability as they face the task of replenishing their pitching staff. The Arizona staff looks forward to following the Bears this season as they are one of the top contenders heading into the 2024 season.
