KS Diamond Notes: Week 3

Each week, KSHSAA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the PBR Kansas Player and Pitcher of the Week. While we can only pick one of each, there are always a number of other impressive performances that were in the mix for the award and deserve recognition. Here’s a look at some of the most notable from the week three. 

Ty Miller RHP / 1B / Olathe West, KS / 2025

The Nebraska commit has been absolute nails early this spring. Last week, he tossed a shutout allowing only three hits and three walks while punching out eight. 

 

Conner Blume C / OF / Wamego , KS / 2025

The toolsy catcher went 4-for-7 in two games last week with four doubles and four RBIs.

 

 

Jack Dilley RHP / 3B / Olathe West, KS / 2024

The Barton County commit had an outstanding on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he was 2-for-4  with a grand slam and a walk. On the mound, the right-hander tossed 4 innings punching out 10 and only surendering one hit and one walk. 

 

 

Ty Heitschmidt 1B / LHP / Smoky Valley High, KS / 2026

The small school prospect went 5-fot-7 with two doubles and three RBIs. On the mound he tossed 6.1 innings, punching out 13 and allowing only one earned run. 

 

 

Cale Fossett 3B / RHP / Shawnee Mission North High, KS / 2026

One of the top prospects in the freshman class, Fossett twirled 7.1 innings on the mound, not allowing a run or walk and punching out eight. With the bat, Fossett was 3-for-8 with a double, triple and three RBIs. 

 

 

Cash Messenger SS / OF / Shawnee Mission North, KS / 2025

On the mound, Cash tossed 6.2 innings punching out 8 and allowing just one unearned run. Offensively, he went 3-for-6 with a double, triple, HR, and 3 RBI. 

 

 

Christian Ryan RHP / SS / Blue Valley West, KS / 2025

Ryan tossed his first complete game shutout, going 6 innings allowing one walk and five hits while punching out seven. 

 

 

Max Hamilton RHP / OF / Olathe West, KS / 2026

Hamilton just missed being named the hitter and pitcher of the week, having arguable the best combined week in the state. One the mound, the talented right-hander tossed a 5 inning shutout allowing just one hit and one walk while punching out seven. He also hit .500 on the week with two HRs and 4 RBIs.
