Kentucky Pitcher of The Week

This weekly award will be announced each Tuesday for the previous week’s games.

Week five of the Kentucky high school saw some bad weather in the middle of the week that limited the number of games, but that didn’t stop a pitcher from Paducah Tilghman HS from taking advantage of the beginning and end of the week.

Paducah Tilghman RHP Gunner Massey, a 2024 Rend Lake recruit, was virtually unhittable in two starts last week. Facing Marshall County on Monday, Massey worked 5 innings while allowing just 1 hit and no earned runs with 5 strikeouts in a 7-2 win. Then on Saturday, Massey pitched Tilghman to the 2A State tourney in Owensboro next weekend by firing a 7-inning, no-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts.

His line for the week: 2-0, 12 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 15 K.

For his outstanding performance on the field, Gunner Massey has been named the Prep Baseball Kentucky Pitcher of The Week for April 8-14.
