Prep Baseball Report

Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

The Colorado high school baseball season kicks off on March 7, opening day for regular season action under CHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2024 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Colorado Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Cherokee Trail fell just short of a 5A state championship last year as they lost to Valor Christian in the final game of playoffs. Most of the starters from 2023 are returning for this spring, including much of their rotation as well. Coach DiGiorgio will have two stout left-handed arms at the top of their rotation as Logan Reid and Carter Wilcox are already committed to playing Division I baseball after HS. This team got hot down the stretch last season, and are looking to continue that success early and often in 2024.
