Playoff Run: Lost to Erie 7-3 in the Class 4A District 6 Playoffs
2015 Final Rank: 54

Dagin Renck, LHP 2017, No. 46 2017

Noah Befus, OF, 2018

OTHER PLAYERS WHO CAN MAKE AN IMPACT
Avery Peterson, SS 2018
Matt Zamudio, 3B/2B, 2018

X-FACTOR:
The experience the Trojans bring back in 2016 will be key. They have two starters (Rothe and Peterson) who started for them on their 2014 4A Final 4 team, and also bring back 5 other starters from last year.

KEY PLAYERS LOST:
B. Ingvaldsen, RHP: Graduated

STAT RAT:
The Trojans stole over 50 bases last year as a team led by Cooper Rothe with 14. They also pack some power with 10 overall homeruns returning to 2016.

BOTTOM LINE:

The Trojans seem to always fly under the radar, but the reality is Coach Fobes runs one heck of a program that is consistently successful every year. Last year they fell a little short losing to Erie in the first game of the Class 4A District 6 playoffs. 2016 MIF Mason Peterson returns for the Trojans, and is one of the better hitters in the state at the 4A level. Peterson led the team in batting average (.462), Hits (36), Doubles (10) RBI's (21) and Homeruns (4) last season. 2016 OF Cooper Rothe is a menace on the bases stealing 15 last year hitting .344 with 2 homeruns. 2016 Keven Andrew was second on the team with 8 stolen bases and hit .370 last year. 2017 LHP Dagan Renck is one of the top pitchers in his class and will be the No. 1 option in 2016. Last year Renck went 6 and 2 and struck out 46 batters. Renck will also help in the lineup hitting .292 with some pop in the bat. 2016 LHP Miguel Moroyoqui will be counted on to bring senior leadership on the mound. 2018 OF Noah Befus shows promise hitting .314 last year in limited at bats. Longmont could be a sleeper favorite to dethrone Green Mountain for the 4A Title in 2016.
