Colorado 2026 Class Rankings: Spring Update

The spring 2024 rankings update consists of 100 players from the Colorado 2026 class. This group of prospects includes some high-end arms at the top, surging athletic bats, and intriguing talent throughout the list. When creating our rankings, we consider various factors, such as skills, physical abilities, potential, projection, and on-field performance as well.

As the CHSAA spring season begins, we are excited to see how these players develop and are constantly looking for new talent within our state. We understand that each player progresses at their own pace, and we will update the rankings throughout the year. It's important to remember that each player has their journey, and the ultimate goal should always be to strive for continuous improvement.

SURGING ARMS:

Hudson Alpert RHP / SS / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2026

Alpert remains at the top of the '26 class rankings and is off to a strong start to his 2024 campaign. The sophomore has chucked 8 innings with 10 strikeouts, 4 walks, and 2 earned runs allowed against stout competition. The Prep Baseball Colorado staff was able to watch Alpert during his first start against Legacy where he touched 91 mph numerous times, and showcased feel of the full arsenal with plus spin.

 

 

Carson Munroe RHP / SS / Chaparral, CO / 2026

Munroe has tossed 8 innings with 12 strikeouts, 2 walks, and 3 runs allowed this spring. The #2 ranked prospect in the '26 class has a fastball around 90 mph and an athletic/projectable frame at 6 ft. tall. Munroe is pitching innings against some of the top teams in Colorado this spring and is one to watch closely as he continues to develop. 

 

 

Tyler Houston RHP / OF / Legend, CO / 2026

Houston continues to flourish and was seen up to 90 mph by the Colorado scouting staff in his 2 relief innings against Valor Christian where he K'd 6 batters. The righty has a unique fastball out of a deceptive slot and can pair the heater with a slider around 2700 rpms. Should be a consistent riser in 2024. 

 

 

Aaron Jaquez RHP / 1B / Falcon, CO / 2026

Jaquez is yet another top arm that has been seen up to 90 mph by the state's scouting staff. The sophomore has a tall frame with long limbs which should only help him with future development. As Jaquez continues to develop, he may end up with one of the higher ceilings of this group when it is all said and done. 

 

 

Gunnar Garrison RHP / 1B / Eaton, CO / 2026

Garrison has been very efficient to begin 2024 thanks to 5 innings of no run baseball with 11 strikeouts, just 2 hits allowed, and 0 walks allowed. The Eaton right-hander has a big and strong frame that should bode well for durability and velocity. Garrison already has a fastball in the upper 80s and is one to watch closely this spring and throughout 2024. 

 

 

TOP RISERS:

Silas Meuli OF / 1B / Legend, CO / 2026

Meuli is a 6.8 runner that hits from the left-side and is off to a hot start for his 5A Legend program this spring. The underclassman has crushed for a .421 average with 2 stolen bases and a 1.103 OPS across 26 plate appearances. Meuli is composed in the box, comes with a quick bat, and has done his damage against some solid teams already. The lefty is one to monitor closely throughout the spring season. 

 

 

Jacob Fladebo SS / OF / Legend, CO / 2026

Fladebo is another Legend youngster that has tormented opposing competition to begin the year. The shortstop is hitting .400 with 8 stolen bases and a .980 OPS through 30 plate appearances this spring. Fladebo has some progressed tools already and plays the game with plenty of feel. The Prep Baseball Colorado scouting staff got a chance to get a look at him first hand against Valor Christian. 

 

 

Darren Daves SS / OF / Montezuma-Cortez , CO / 2026

The left-handed hitter continues to impress and flashes some advanced feel in the batter's box. During this year's Preseason All-State event, Daves posted a 99.4 mph top exit velocity, a 93.3 average exit velocity, a 6.9 60 yard dash, threw 86 mph from the infield and 92 mph from the outfield. The sophomore is hitting .480 with 2 homers, 12 stolen bases, and a 1.239 OPS at the Colorado 3A level. 

 

 

Cole Teltschik C / SS / Discovery Canyon Campus, CO / 2026

Cole is an actively developing catcher that is hitting .529 with a 1.339 OPS across his first 26 plate appearances. The tall and athletic frame on Cole projects well and he has showcased a 1.91 top pop time as well. 

 

 

Ryan Prater LHP / LHP / Pine Creek, CO / 2026

A lefty to keep a close eye on with 19.1 innings, 37 strikeouts, 5 walks, and 6 earned runs. 

 

 

Caleb Korth 1B / LHP / Ponderosa, CO / 2026

Actively developing with some two-way upside. Has been seen up to a 100 mph top exit velocity in events. 

 

 

Ethan Wachsmann RHP / OF / Grandview, CO / 2026

Showcased a 3000+ rpm off-speed during 2024 Preseason All-State to go with a fastball just under 90 mph. Tall, wiry, and projectable frame. 7.1 innings and 13 strikeouts to begin the young season. A close follow for 2024. 

 

 

Bryce Love OF / RHP / Peyton, CO / 2026

Love comes with some two-way upside as a strong athlete, but he has been seen over 88 mph off the mound in past events. The sophomore has also already generated some staggering pitching numbers this spring thanks to his 9 innings, 21 strikeouts, just 1 earned run, and three walks. 

 

 

TOP NEWCOMERS:

Cade Petersen RHP / OF / Lutheran, CO / 2026

Showcased a sinking fastball with plenty of movement at over 86 mph during a Preseason event this year. Should be getting varsity innings in 2024 and comes with feel along with flashes of plus stuff. Spins the curveball over 2300 rpms with a quality changeup. 

 

 

James Varela LHP / OF / Broomfield , CO / 2026

Varela comes with pitchability from the left-side and has tossed 5.2 innings with 6 Ks and 0 earned runs allowed for his 5A Broomfield team. The sophomore relies on a deceptive arsenal and could move up the rankings quickly as he contiues to develop. 

 

 

Liam Martin RHP / SS / Rampart, CO / 2026

Martin has been seen with a fastball in the low to mid 80s in events to go with his changeup, slider, and sinker. The underclassman is getting plenty of quality varsity innings in 2024 with already 16.2 innings pitched, 19 strikeouts and 2 earned runs for the Rampart Rams.
