Each week during the high school season, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff will announce our 'Player(s) of the Week' awards for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state will continue to perform and put up numbers weekly, though only a select few can earn Player or Pitcher of the Week honors when compared on a weekly basis. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honor this spring season. We will also highlight those that fell short in our weekly 'Diamond Notes' article, where you can learn more about the standout names across the Colorado baseball landscape.

WEEK 4 COLORADO PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Brody Geist OF / SS / Standley Lake, CO / 2024 Geist takes home the week 4 Player of the Week honors with phenomenal production at the plate. The senior went 7 for 8 with 2 homeruns, 2 triples, a double, 2 singles, 2 stolen bases, and 11 RBI across 3 games. We can also tell you that Geist hit for the cycle in his game against Alameda where he tossed 3 innings with 2 strikeouts as well. Geist is a quality all-around athlete and is committed to playing baseball at Indian Hills CC after this spring.

WEEK 4 COLORADO PITCHER OF THE WEEK:

Noah Mortenson RHP / 1B / Heritage, CO / 2025 We have another 7-inning no-hitter this spring thanks to Mortenson's strong outing against Chatfield. The junior struckout 9 batters and walked just 2 en route to a near perfect day against a 5A Colorado program. Mortenson is actively developing right now with a fastball in the mid-to-upper 80s and quality pitchability. One to watch closely in 2024.
