Colorado Power 25 Rankings: Week 6

Caleb Dameron
Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

On Thursday, March 7th the Colorado spring season began play for all 5A-1A baseball programs. We continue our CHSAA Power 25 rankings with a look at how the teams have produced through the first six weeks. The Prep Baseball Colorado staff has diligently scouted players and teams throughout this spring, and will continue to work hard to bring the state top notch coverage on the baseball diamond. Colorado is flourishing with high-end baseball talent at the moment and is starting to gather more and more national recognition as well. We hope to continue all momenutum in the state while making an impact on the players and teams within.

#1 REGIS JESUIT

We have a new #1 in the Colorado Power 25 rankings as the Regis Jesuit Raiders have really started to round into form this spring. The Raiders have won 5 games in a row which includes wins over Valor Christian and Castle View. The only losses from this program in 2024 have come at the hands of Neumann (out of state matchup), Cherry Creek, and Mullen. Regis Jesuit comes with two exceptional arms at the top of their rotation in uncommitted prospects Hudson Alpert and Luke Reasbeck. This lineup is also very deep right now with Bell, Lopez, Chyr, Nordstrom, and Alpert all thriving offensively. We can also tell you that the Raiders face #3 Chaparral this week which could end up as one of the top matchups of the season so far.

#5 FOSSIL RIDGE

The Sabercats continue to win ball games and have a deep roster for this spring. The rotation for Fossil Ridge is led by senior Easton Miller (Air Force commit) who is one of the state's top arms with 58 strikeouts across 28 innings pitched and just a 1.01 ERA. Miller comes with a dominating fastball around 90-92 mph and an advanced slider. Fossil Ridge also has uncommitted lefty Brek Benedict who has thrown 26.1 innings with 43 strikeouts, a 0.27 ERA, and has only walked 6 batters. This offense also has 6 everyday players hitting over .400 at the moment. The Sabercats only loss was against Cherry Creek this season and they should be the favorite to win the Front Range league along with #8 Prairie View.

#7 CASTLE VIEW

Castle View has one of the most exciting lineups in the state right now as they average almost 8 runs a game and have some hitters you do not want to leave your seat for. Uncommitted juniors Sam Harry and Tommy Feldhake are two standout athletes who can change the game with one swing while also having the ability to have an impact on the base paths and defensively. Senior Ben Knox is another huge threat in this offense since the uncommitted two sport athlete already has a three home run game under his belt and is hitting .519 with a 1.545 OPS this season. This is a team no one across the state should want to be matched up against in the first round of playoffs in 2024.
