Staff

The Georgia Scout Blog will be a weekly blog with reports and videos from the players and teams that we go out to cover each week. The blog will remain for the length of the week with notes being added the day following from each game. At the end of the week we will update the POWER 25 and CLASSIFICATION RANKINGS, then at the beginning of the following week we will announce 2 Player of the Week awards, along with our Diamond Notes, which is a culminaton of all players that were not selected for player of the week. Note: Player of the Week submissions are sent in by high school coaches.

Week of April 15th

Monday

Logan Robinson, RHP, 2025, Cherokee Bluff
Uncommitted. Robinson closed out the final 2 innings in game 1 for Cherokee Bluff. This was our first look at him, and really impressed with the ability to throw strikes with a lead. Strikes are a premium in high school baseball, and Robinson filled it up with a fastball from 82-85. He flashed the curveball a couple of times, but stuck mostly with the fastball in the bottom of the zone. He worked solely out of the stretch, and will continue to be a go to guy out of the pen for Cherokee Bluff in the playoffs.

Tuesday

Asher Sabom, RHP, 2024, North Cobb Christian
The Georgia commit has continued to stack up quality starts throughout the spring, and came through again as North Cobb Christian wrapped up another region title. Long and loose on the mound, Sabom fills up the zone with a strong three-pitch mix while creating soft contact with the entire mix. Fastball up to 92 early, living 87-90 over the 6.0 with heavy sink and run and living in the lower half of the zone. The mid-70s slider has started to miss more and more bats as the year has gone and has developed into a strong pairing to the sinker out of the same tunnel. Changeup, another pitch that’s developed well for Sabom this spring at 78-80 with good late fade while maintaining arm speed. The senior has grown into the ace for this Eagles team as they look to go back-to-back in Class 2A.

Wednesday

Jared Glenn, RHP/3B, 2025, Dacula
One of the top uncommitted two-way players in Georgia put on a quality showing on both sides in a tough matchup against Buford. Methodical mover on the mound with low heartbeat before flashing big arm speed in a compact action. Glenn uses a strong 6-foot-1, 205-pound frame well with a sturdy lower half and minimal wasted movement. Fastball up to 88, living 86-88 throughout with some late ride and run that was missing bats at will. Notched double-digit whiffs on the fastball alone. Mid-70s curveball feel is developing with ability to both manipulate shape some and land to both halves of the plate. Flashed a quality chaneup sparingly at 78-80 with late diving action that was effective to RHH. At the plate, Glenn picked up a pair of knocks including a hard-hit barrel. Staying simple from a lower handset, The third-baseman shows fast hands through the zone with present bat speed and strength showing again from the lower half. Good bat-to-ball skills show with plenty of power projection. The former future gamer is looking for a big summer to continue building the stock into an eventual commitment.
