Prep Baseball Georgia
Staff

The Georgia Scout Blog will be a weekly blog with reports and videos from the players and teams that we go out to cover each week. The blog will remain for the length of the week with notes being added the day following from each game. At the end of the week we will update the POWER 25 and CLASSIFICATION RANKINGS, then at the beginning of the following week we will announce 2 Player of the Week awards, along with our Diamond Notes, which is a culminaton of all players that were not selected for player of the week. Note: Player of the Week submissions are sent in by high school coaches.

Week of February 19

Caleb Daniel, OF, 2024, Cartersville
Speaking of another player who just flat out hits, and that’s the Cartersville senior center fielder. Second time seeing Daniel early this spring and it’s been nothing but barrels each time. There’s above-average bat speed present with ability to create easy leverage from the bat path. It’s legit all-fields power for the Georgia commit that showed in-game with a ringing 3B to dead CF and followed with an absolute no-doubt 3-run home run down the RF line to give the Canes the go-ahead runs late. The potential for above-average to plus raw power tool in real, and the hit tool is following close behind. Daniel flashed an impressive glove in center as well, closing the game on a full-speed diving catch. The performances speak for themselves for Daniel and starting to garner legit draft attention early this spring.

Levi Clark, C, 2024, Walton
Clark put on a clinic of two-strike hitting Tuesday at Lassiter, coming through with 3 knocks and 4 RBI in pitcher’s counts. The hand and bat speed stand out for the Tennessee commit with a willingness to take what’s given and work backside with impact. Driving a ball off the opposite field wall for an RBI triple with two strikes is not something you see often from a prep bat. The hit and power potential for the Walton backstop remains sky-high and continues to show well early in the year.
