Staff

The Georgia Scout Blog will be a weekly blog with reports and videos from the players and teams that we go out to cover each week. The blog will remain for the length of the week with notes being added the day following from each game. At the end of the week we will update the POWER 25 and CLASSIFICATION RANKINGS, then at the beginning of the following week we will announce 2 Player of the Week awards, along with our Diamond Notes, which is a culminaton of all players that were not selected for player of the week. Note: Player of the Week submissions are sent in by high school coaches.

Week of April 1st

Monday

Landon Kemp, INF, 2025, Cherokee Bluff
Uncommitted. Kemp has made some big strides since the summer. The lower half looks much stronger, and has really helped him at the plate. The swing is smooth and effortless from the left side with easy timing/rhythm. The hands stay through the zone with a level barrel that produces consistent contact. He is riding a 11 game hit streak, and came up with a big hit to tie the game in a pivotal region series. The glove works in the field, and can be an everyday second baseman or even slide over to 3rd. He is athletic and ranged well with a quick and easy arm action.

Tuesday

Cooper Underwood, LHP, 2025, Allatoona
Great look at one of the top left-handed arms in Georgia’s 2025 class on Tuesday. The Georgia Tech commit stands a highly-projectable 6-foot-2, 175-pounds while working downhill from a high three-quarters slot. Loose and athletic in his delivery with good ability to repeat. Ran the fastball up to 89 early while living 86-88 throughout the outing with good arm-side life and living on the outer half. Slider remains a quality offering with an above-average to plus ceiling at 77-79 for plenty of swing and miss. Underwood has an innate feel to spin, averaging 2700+ RPMs with massive horizontal movement (16-19” of sweep). Changeup remains a minimal used third offering but flashed some arm-side fade at 75-77. Big-time confidence on the mound for Underwood and when the stuff is on, it can be unhittable.
