Lake Central @ Providence

Josh Adamczewski, INF, Lake Central HS, 2023
Uncommitted 2023 LHH Infielder. Athletic, 6-foot, 170 pound frame. Starts in an open stance, using a toe tap timing mechanism. Rhythmic in the box. Showed good bat speed and looked to do damage. 2 for 4 with a 2B and loud contact in 3 of his 4 trips to the plate. Adamczewski played 3B tonight for the Indians, but has shown the ability to play all 3 infield spots on the travel circuit. Quick feet, smooth actions in the infield. If arm strength improves, he will be more likely to stay on the left side at the next level.

Matt Santana, C, Lake Central HS, 2023
Tennessee commit. Thick, strong 5-foot-10 frame. Reached base in all four trips, including a 2B down the LF line, finished the night 2 for 2 with a 2B and 2 RBIs. Hits from a crouched stance with a low handset. Quick hands. Looks to hit early in the count, but still shows good plate discipline. Moved well laterally behind the dish. Also showed good arm strength and carry on his throws to 2B between innings.

Connor Misch, 1B/LHP, Lake Central HS, 2022
Xavier signee. Physical, 6-foot-3, 195 pound frame. Hits from a tall, open stance with a hover-type leg lift. Good balance. Flatter bat path. Quick hands, was able to get his barrel to balls on the inner half. Finished the night 2 for 4, with loud flyouts in his other two trips. Came in the pitch the last inning. The southpaw sat 81-84 mph on his FB, touching 85, showing some run to his armside. Showed a survey type breaking ball at 69-73 mph.

Conor Pangburn, RHP, Lake Central HS, 2022
Purdue-Northwest signee. The SR RHP was dominant in his first start of the season, with 4IP, allowing just 1R, on 0BB, & 4 K’s. Pangburn pitched at 86-88, touching multiple 89s early in the game. Showed good command of his 78-80 mph, sinking CH & a tight, 77-78 mph slider. Pangburn didn’t go to his offspeed much, commanding the fastball to both sides of the plate early in the count to force weak contact.

Joey Carra, OF, Lake Central HS, 2023
Uncommitted 2023 OF. Bats left-handed, throws right-handed. Projectable, 6-foot-1, 170 pound frame. At the plate, Carra showed a simple, repeatable LHH swing. Line drive approach, with 2 singles back up the middle and a line out to CF in this look. Finished the night 2 for 4, with 2 RBIs and a SB. Good runner.

Hunter Snyder, SS, Lake Central HS, 2023
Columbia signee. Lean, athletic 5-foot-10 frame. LHH SS. Gamer. Leadoff man and catalyst for the Lake Central offense. 3 for 5 tonight with a 2B & (2) RBI singles. Wide stance, with a simple load and repeatable swing. Knack for finding the barrel. Looked comfortable hitting with 2 strikes. Snyder played in control of his feet at SS. Showed good instincts and sure hands. Good athlete with enough arm strength to stay on the left side at the next level.

Fort Wayne Carroll @ New Albany

Tucker Biven, RHP/SS, New Albany HS, 2022
Louisville signee. Athletic, 6-foot-2 frame. Athletic, repeatable delivery. Very good arm speed. Came out 91-94 mph on the fastball in the 1st inning, 89-92 in the 2nd. Showed a tight, 82-85 mph slider and a sinking CH at 84-86 mph, though he struggled to command his offspeed in this look. Added a 2 for 4 day at the plate, with a 1B in his first plate appearance and a HR in the 7th. Hit from a balanced stance, using a toe tap timing mechanism. Clean bat path. 2-sport star coming straight off a successful basketball season, expect Biven to continue to improve as the spring goes on.

Jaydan Duba, INF, Fort Wayne Carroll HS, 2022
Duba hit leadoff for Carroll, showing a knack for finding the barrel. Finished the game 2 for 3 with an opposite field 2B, and a walk. Also saw Duba add an RBI 1B, BB, and 2 SB’s in 2 AB’s against Jeffersonville on Friday. Hits from a balanced stance, with a repeatable, small load. Clean path. Handled velocity well. Uncommitted 2022.

Conner Barkel, 3B , Fort Wayne Carroll HS, 2024
Uncommitted 2024. Sturdy, 6-foot-1, 200 pound frame. Looks the part. Hits from a taller stance, using a quick, toe tap stride. Flatter, rotational bat path. Showed good bat speed - however struggled to adjust to spin. 1 for 4 in this game with an RBI single, also added an RBI single against Jeffersonville on Friday.

Cameron Saunders, RHP, Fort Wayne Carroll HS, 2023
Uncommitted 2023 RHP. Lean, projectable 6-foot-2 frame. Consistent balance point with a slight inward turn. ¾ armslot. Sat 80-82 mph on the FB, T 83, with command to both sides of the plate. Good feel for a 68-71 mph sweeping breaking ball that kept the New Albany offense off balance. Picked up the win for Carroll, throwing 6 innings, allowing just 2 runs.

Chase Loesch, 3B, New Albany HS, 2024
Uncommitted 2024. Large, projectable 6-foot-4, 210 pound frame hitting in New Albany’s cleanup spot. Hits from a tall stance, with a simple, rhythmic load. Good separation, clean path, gets to extension. Finished the day 2 for 4 with a 2B. Good follow.

Terre Haute North @ Center Grove

Caden Cornett, RHP, Center Grove HS, 2023
Uncommitted 2023 RHP. Athletic, projectable 6-foot-5 frame. Competitive nature on the bump. High ¾ arm slot with good arm speed. Consistent tempo throughout the delivery. Tall balance point. Tends to fall off line towards the 1B side which leads to some inconsistencies in command. Pitched mainly off his fastball, showing the ability to spin it at the top of the zone with good ride, but also showing some tilt and run to his armside. Cornett came out 88-91 in the 1st, touching 93 mph. He settled in at 86-89 mph and held that velocity for 4 IP. He threw a slurvey-type breaking ball at 70-73 mph. This pitch didn’t show to be an out-pitch currently, more to keep hitters off balance. Cornett picked up the W for Center Grove, finishing the day with 4 IP, on 4H, 2BB’s, and 7 K’s, allowing just 1ER.

Sam Griffith, 2B, Center Grove HS, 2022
Oakland signee. Athletic, 5-foot-11 165 pound frame. Griffith hits from a balanced stance, with little movement throughout. Flat bat path. High contact, line drive approach. The Senior 2B was 3 for 3 on the day with 2 2B’s and 3 RBIs. Griffith is very sure handed at 2B, making all the routine plays.

Tyler Cerny, SS , Center Grove HS, 2022
The Indiana signee was an absolute playmaker in this look. Competitor. Instinctual on the bases and in the infield. The Center Grove leadoff man continues to swing a hot bat early in the season, going 3 for 3 against Terre Haute North with 2 2B’s and a 3B. Cerny is a leader for a very potent Center Grove lineup.
