By Phil Wade
Director, PBR Indiana

On Saturday, February 22, PBR Indiana hosted its annual Preseason All-State Showcase at Westfield High School in Westfield, IN. A record 153 players within the 2015-2017 classes participated in the event, including 78 pitchers.

Of the 78 arms, 52 touched 80 mph or higher, 12 were 85 mph or higher, and 8 were 86 mph or higher. Columbus North's Collin Lollar recorded the highest fastball velocity for righty's at 87 mph.

Below we analyze eight standout right handed arms from the event...

1. Grant Sloan, RHP, Zionsville HS, 2015: 6-foot-4, 195 pound Junior is committed to Virginia.  Sloan has a strong athletic frame with a strong arm.  At the he showcased a heavy fastball with little effort at 85 mph . The No. 13 ranked Sloan has been up to 89 mph with his fastball and arguably has one of the highest ceilings in the 2015 class.  The Virginia commit needs to become more consistent this spring, and if he does should be talked about in regards to the 2015 draft.
