2024 LHSAA Division I Non-Select and Select Playoff Predictions

Yesterday, the Lousiana High School Athletic School Association released the 2024 playoff brackets for all divisions.  There are great matchups throughout each division, on both the Non-Select and Select sides.  Today, we take a look at the (Division I) Non-Select and Select playoff brackets.  Be sure to follow us, across all of our social media platforms, for complete coverage of the 2024 LHSAA Baseball Playoffs!

"THE FAVORITES"

#1 Barbe: The Bucs are the defending State Champions and have won the state title a total of 12 times in program history.  Head Coach Glenn Cecchini has done one of his best coaching jobs this season, as the Bucs have had to replace several key starters from a season ago.  This year's Bucs pitching staff looks a little different than their staffs of recent years, as they don't have a prototypical shutdown #1 arm, but they do have a couple of southpaws that have been pretty consistent all spring in 2024 Diego Corrales and 2027 Lawton Littleton.  The offense has had their struggles at times this season, but they finished strong, which led to Barbe winning another District 3-5A title.  Barbe seems to have gotten a pretty good draw with their only likely hurdle coming in the quarterfinal round, if they were to meet up with Mandeville, who has been one of the biggest surprises this spring.
