The Top 5

The Top 5 remains relatively unchanged with only one new team entering the final group of five, as we get ready for the playoffs.  Catholic BR is still our #1 team, for the ninth consecutive week, after going 4-0 last week.  The Bears are the first team to hold onto to the #1 spot for every week during the season, which is an impressive feat.  Barbe checks in at #2 for the third straight week.  The Bucs won five games last week with their biggest coming on Friday to district-rival Sulphur, which they won in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the 7th inning.  Sam Houston moves up to the #3 spot in this final regular season update.  The Broncos went a perfect 5-0 last week with two big wins over district-rival Sulphur.  West Monroe moves back one spot to #4.  The Rebels went 3-1 last week and their season record now sits at 25-7.  Mandeville checks in at #5 for the second straight week with an overall record of 24-7.  The Skippers capped off a fantastic regular season by winning the district championship tournament last week.

Risers

Hahnville may be the hottest team in the entire state, as they move up to #15 in this update.  The Tigers have won their last eleven straight and went 3-0 last week with wins over Destrehan twice and Brother Martin.

+ Benton hit a rough patch in the middle of the season, but finish on a high note, as they move up to #16 this week.  The Tigers have won their last six straight and went 3-0 last week with two district wins over Parkway.

+ Teurlings Catholic makes their Power 25 debut this week at the #25 spot, and are playing good baseball at the right time.  The Rebels won the district title last week with two wins over rival St. Thomas More.
