March is right around the corner, and baseball is hitting the ground running across the Old Line State. With private schools already underway, we turn our attention to our annual conference and team previews. Today, we will highlight four more schools in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) "A" Conference and break down key players to watch throughout the high school season.

Wyatt Randolph (2024) - Rhodes College

Team Breakdown

The Greyhounds enter the 2024 spring with a fairly new look to the roster, as standouts Peyton Miller and Dom Moats have both transferred, along with impact players in Adam Hicks, Colin McPherson, Blake Paquette and Cooper Sidell all gone to graduation. This certainly opens up opportunities for some younger talent to gain experience throughout this spring and look to build on said experience for years to come.

Senior Wyatt Randolph is back and will look to lead the pitching staff, as fellow senior Ben Koman and juniors Dylan Buchalter and Jake Mohler all look to add needed depth throughout the rotation.

Offensively, there's plenty to be excited about with seniors Danny Leikus and Wyatt Randolph leading the charge in the middle of the order. Juniors Caleb Lawson and Jake Mohler will provide depth with two intriguing sophomores to keep eyes on in Toby Rosenband and Jute Taylor who certainly have bright futures ahead.

John Carroll Patriots

Will Rhine (Jr.) INF

Committed Players

Dallas Brooks (2025) - University of Maryland
Casey Carpenter (2025) - University of North Carolina Wilmington
Miguel Leon (2026) - University of Maryland
Will Rhine (2025) - University of Alabama
Aaron Snyder (2024) - Chesapeake College

Team Breakdown

Similar to last year, coach Siler and the John Carroll Patriots possess one of the more potent offenses in the state, with added pitching depth that looks to push them over the top in 2024. In what is a highly competitive MIAA "A" conference again this year, look for the Patriots to be in the running all year long.

Pitching depth may have been a cause for concern a year ago, however our staff sees a slightly different look in 2024. Senior Aaron Snyder and junior Brooks Mueller will look to be at the front of the rotation with a trio of highly intriguing and talented sophomores providing depth in Brycen Atland, Dalton Cole and Pierce Quinn. Keep eyes on the ultra-projectable Quinn, coming off a breakout fall and winter that looks to propel the young righty into the conversation as one of the top arms in the class across the state.

The offense is the focal point once again in 2024, led by some of the top hitters in the state in juniors Dallas Brooks, Casey Carpenter and Will Rhine. If John Carroll takes the MIAA "A" conference crown this spring, look for Brooks, Carpenter and Rhine to be at the forefront of that success. Fellow juniors in Andrew Jourdan and Cam Leach are highly talented bats that will provide depth with additional key at-bats logged by sophomores Joey Coudon, Miguel Leon and Pierce Quinn.

Loyola Blakefield Dons

Top Pitchers

Jacob Caponi (Soph.) LHP
Michael DelGaudio (Jr.) RHP
Joseph Nottingham (Jr.) RHP
Tanner Robertson (Soph.) LHP
Bradley Seiss
(Jr.) RHP

Top Position Players

Michael DelGaudio (Jr.) OF
Jacob Hauk (Sr.) C
Bradley Seiss (Jr.) CIF
Derek Seiss (Jr.) CIF
Ronan Sennett (Sr.) C

Committed Players

Jacob Hauk (2024) - University of Maryland
Joseph Nottingham (2025) - University of Georgia

Team Breakdown

The Dons break into 2024 with a plethora of intriguing pieces on both sides of the ball and look to build off of a fairly successful 2023 campaign.

The pitching staff will be led by one of the top prep arms in the state in junior Joseph Nottingham, as well as added key innings logged by fellow juniors Michael DelGaudio and Bradley Seiss. Two "dark horses" to keep eyes on are sophomore standouts Jacob Caponi and Tanner Robertson who, if the Dons look to find consistent success in 2024, will need to pitch key innings on the backend.

Offensively, look for two physical power bats in Jacob Hauk and Ronan Sennett to provide some thump in the lineup, with what we see as a breakout year by junior Michael DelGaudio to provide key swings throughout this spring. Additionally, look for the highly talented Seiss brothers in Bradley and Derek to log key at-bats as well.

Mount St. Joseph Gaels

Top Pitchers

Collin Park (Jr.) LHP
Barry Smith (Sr.) RHP
Brayden Spurgeon (Sr.) RHP
Peyton Youngbar (Jr.) RHP
Nolan Zenkewicz (Sr.) RHP

Top Position Players

Michael Bahouth (Soph.) INF
Matthew Callahan
(Sr.) INF
Tyler Holton (Sr.) CIF
Braydin Kurz
(Sr.) 1B
Mason Nemec (Sr.) OF
Drew Rybinski (Jr.) C

Committed Players

Collin Park (2025) - Columbia University
Drew Rybinski (2025) - Georgetown University
Barry Smith (2024) - Penn State University-York
Brayden Spurgeon (2024) - Washington College
Nolan Zenkewicz (2024) - Clarkson University

Team Breakdown

Yet another intriguing roster to dive into for the 2024 spring season, the Gaels have depth and talent on both sides of the ball that should allow for more consistent success this year.

Led by three legit arms in senior Brayden Spurgeon and juniors Collin Park and Peyton Youngbar, the Gaels undoubtedly have front-end talent to turn to on the bump with intriguing depth provided by seniors Barry Smith and Nolan Zenkewicz.

At the dish, junior catcher Drew Rybinski has added his name to the list of top offensive talent in the 2025 class and will look to lead the offense in 2024. Look for breakout years from seniors Tyler Holton and Braydin Kurz with added depth provided by a highly intriguing sophomore infielder in Michael Bahouth.
