Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2024 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2024. Throughout the coming weeks, be on the lookout for our MD Public School Top 10, as well as a slew of additional preseason coverage.    

# 25 Clear Spring Blazers   

You would be hard pressed to find a storyline that quite fit the magnitude of the Blazers season in 2023. After overcoming a tragedy that struck the Clear Spring community and their baseball program in the fall of 2022, the Blazers hit the ground running last spring with the intention of winning their 2nd state championship in as many years. Head coach Brandon Glazer and the Blazers did just that, capturing that back-to-back state title with a 3-2 victory in the 11th inning, courtesy of a walk-off homerun by then junior East Carolina commit Dawson Kehr. 

Turn the page to 2024, and the Clear Spring varsity roster will have a much different look to it after graduating key senior leaders in Hutson Trobaugh, Logan Helser, Brady Wallace, Braeden Wade and Damien Pittsnogle. The departures will not make it easy for the Blazers to return to the mountain top in 2024, however I wouldn't count out coach Glazers squad too early. Returning one of the top prep arms in the state in Dawson Kehr (East Carolina), along with a slew of underclassmen ready to make a name for themselves, look for the Blazers to stay competitive throughout this spring.
