Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Aiden Swales C / Pisgah, MS / 2024 Rankings  StateRank: 131 / POS: 13 The Hinds CC recruit had a very nice Week 1 of the season for the Dragons as he collected 5 hits, including his first 2 home runs, a triple, scored 8 runs, and drove in another 7.

 

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Conner Watkins SS / RHP / Warren Central, MS / 2024 The Copiah Lincoln CC recruit was excellent out of the pen for the Vikings as he threw 6 2/3 total innings, allowing 0 hits, 0 runs, with 1 walk, and 10 strikeouts.
