Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week: Week 9

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Deuce Jenkins OF / 1B / Northwest Rankin , MS / 2027

Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 169 / POS: 38

The freshman and former Junior Future Games participant had a big time week for the #8 ranked Cougars as he picked up 6 hits in 9 at bats including 3 home runs, a double, a triple, and 8 runs batted in. Jenkins is now hitting .457 in limited at bats.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Houston Green SS / RHP / Center Hill , MS / 2024

The Itawamba CC recruit had a spectacular outing versus Saltillo going 7 innings, allowing just 2 hits, while striking out 14 against zero walks! Green is 5-2 with a 3.03 ERA on the season with 55 strikeouts!
