Tennessee Fall ID: Pitcher Reports

PBR Tennessee Staff

MURFREESBORO, TN - The Tennessee Fall ID was held on Saturday, September 9th at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, TN. This event was an open event that consisted of players from the 2024-2027 classes from Volunteer state. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

Wrapping up our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look back at the scouting reports from the event. Lastly, we look at the scouting reports for all positional players in attendance.

pitcher reports

Tyler Ansell, South Doyle (TN), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-3, 155-pounds. Long and lanky limbs. Will be able to add muscle and should fill out.
Delivery: Slower tempo to his delivery, loose upper body that can create some separation from his lower half. Not much use of the lower half could see big velocity jump when he loads into his legs more
Arm Action: RH. Clean high 3/4 arm slot. Has long arms that are loose and whip through his arm slot. Breaks his hands near his chest but has a longer arm action
FB: T84, 80-84 mph. FB will play up in the zone, especially when he gains more velocity. High arm slot gives his backspin and high induced vertical break T2103, 1994 average rpm.
CB: 70-70 mph. Throws a hard curveball that moves down and away from RHH, threw it for a strike consistently. Will pair well with his FB up in the zone T2383, 2383 average rpm.
CH: 73-74 mph. CH had some sink to it. Was inconsistent on his release with the pitch. Could be a good 3rd pitch with more consistency T1476, 1387 average rpm.
ATH: 7.73 runner in the 60.

Thomas Carroll, Culleoka (TN), 2024
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-7, 180-pounds. Strong present build with established shoulders and lower half. Good athlete with room for added length.
Delivery: He has a quick knee to knee delivery that helps him get down the mound quickly.
Arm Action: RH. He throws from a side arm slot that helps tunnel all his pitches. His fastball is more of a cutter action that could be really effective.
FB: T70, 68-70 mph. Ball has some arm side run due to his slot. Had trouble getting it around the zone. T2088, 1978 average rpm.
SL: 59-61 mph. SL swept across the zone with lots of movement. 20 inches of horizontal movement makes it hard for hitters to stay on it. Had trouble getting it to the glove side T2088, 2008 average rpm.
CH: 68-70 mph. Commanded the CH the bets of his 3 pitches, will be most effective when he follows his FB with his CH to fool hitters T2037, 1617 average rpm.
CUT: 67-70 mph.
ATH: 7.67 runner in the 60. 1.84 in the 10 yard split.

Body: 6-4, 175-pounds. Long lanky frame that could add muscle mass and size. Long levered body with length.
Delivery: Smooth actions, loads his legs well, Has some early trunk rotation that loses some of his velocity. Adding some more strength to his frame will see a big jump
Arm Action: RH. Has good scap retraction. Longer arm action, comes from a high 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T77, 74-76 mph. FB has a little bit of arm side run, locates it to arm side well. Did a good job of keeping it around the zone. Will do a good job of setting up offspeed pitches T1673, 1476 average rpm.

ATH: 7.77 runner in the 60. 1.80 in the 10 yard split.

Evan Dodd, Whitesburg Christian (AL), 2024

Body: 6-2, 165-pounds. Long and lanky limbs, especially in the lower half with longer legs. Could fill into a larger frame as he looks to add muscle.

Arm Action: RH. Arm moves fast. Has a slightly stabby arm action.
FB: T83, 79-83 mph. FB will play best when he's got it in the zone consistently. He has good spin and good induced vertical break paired with an unorthodox delivery. Will produce swing and miss T2372, 2159 average rpm.

Tucker Glendinning, Independence (TN), 2025

Delivery: The tall right comes in with slow leg kick and gets down the mound well. Colapses his backside which leaves a lot of velo left on the table.
Arm Action: RH. Tucker throws from a high over the top arm slot that helps with some late life.
FB: T80, 78-80 mph. Creates deception that makes the ball get on you quickly. Steep down angle on his FB. Will be hard for hitters to get on plane with it if its located down in the zone T1921, 1882 average rpm.
SL: 67-70 mph. Throws a tight SL with good late movement. WIll pair with his FB nicely. Will get hitters to chase out of the zone T1910, 1834 average rpm.
CH: 68-69 mph. Does a good job of reducing his spin rate. Will induce ground balls with this pitch. Showed some inconsistency with it in the zone T1487, 1424 average rpm.

ATH: 8.32 runner in the 60.

Arm Action: RH. He throws from an over the top arm slot and stays behind the ball really well.
FB: T80, 78-80 mph. FB had good back spin and induced vertical break. When he is more consistent with his movements he should try to use it at the top of the zone. Could produce swing and miss T2074, 1992 average rpm.
