Fall Update

Uncommitted Prospects To Watch

Jacob Freer SS / SS / Newport, WA / 2024

Polished left-handed bat with feel for hit, bat speed and emerging power. Controls the zone with a sound approach and has a knack for consistently getting his barrel to the ball. Gap to gap power with mainly line drive contact. Strong armed defender for the INF with clean, crisp actions and consistent body control. Reports that late this summer he was in the upper 80s on the mound with his FB and the 2-way potential makes him an even more intriguing follow. High academic prospect.

Elliot Oster OF / OF / Liberty, WA / 2024

The former PBR Future Gamer has game changing athleticism while continuing to offer projection as a toolsy OF prospect. A plus runner at 6’3, 190 with EVs up to 100 mph and an above average arm from the OF. Offensively he creates easy bat speed from a tall, upright stance and gives himself considerable leverage when he connects. The strides and actions play in CF but he could easily handle any OF spot long-term.

Committed to Bellevue College (10.20.23)

Xavier Hattenburg C / OF / Mead , WA / 2024

Left-handed hitting backstops are always a premium profile and Hattenburg is no exception. A consummate ‘ballplayer’ with natural instincts for the game. Hattenburg has proven capable of handling a staff and dealing with multiple arms as a catcher while having the arm talent to shut down a run game. Offensively it’s a fluid, left-handed stroke with consistent lift and the chance for even more pull-side power. Runs well underway and brings added athleticism to the position.

Isaiah Nolan SS / 2B / O'Dea, WA / 2024

Athletically built at 5’10, 155 with pound for pound strength, Nolan can make a lot of things look easy on the diamond. A plus runner with burst and quickness, he shows agility as a defender while also making an impact on the bases when he gets underway. At the plate, he uses short, strong levers and a compact swing to impact the ball to all fields. Mostly line-drive contact with a flatter path to his swing. His skill set allows him to spray the ball to all fields. Gets the ball out quick on defense and can stay low while playing fast.

Committed to Bellevue College (10.20.23)

Tristan Buehring OF / 3B / West Seattle, WA / 2024

Athletic OF prospect who has continued to get better across multiple looks in the past few years. We’re high on the athleticism Buehring brings to the OF position coupled with his ability to consistently hit from the left-side. A plus runner with speed that plays both defensively and on the bases. He shows burst as well as speed underway. Generates easy bat speed in the box with a fluid, left handed swing with loft. Capable of driving ball to all fields.

 Committed to Whitman (11.18.23)

Committed Risers

Nate Merritt 1B / LHP / Prairie, WA / 2024

A potent LH bat with above average power. Merritt has tremendous offensive upside with his bat speed and leverage. He’s shown a sound approach across multiple events while always remaining at the top of offensive leaderboards. At 6’4, 218 he’s an athletic 1B on defense and provides a large catch radius with plenty of arm strength. Also has the ability to throw with a 3 pitch arsenal and could see a considerable jump in pure stuff with a productive off-season. Yakima Valley commit

Ryan Tobler OF / 2B / Skyline, WA / 2024

Tobler is another athlete who has made significant physical progress over the last few years and the impact on his game has been impressive to witness. An above average runner with 6.9 speed, he’s also consistently improved his power numbers on each look and developed into a speed/power threat. It’s a loud LH bat with quickness in the hands and strength at the point of contact. Capable of handling either OF or 2B duties as a defender. Puget Sound commit

Kevin Gonzaga 1B / 3B / Interlake, WA / 2024

There might not be a more potent bat in the entire state than Gonzaga. At 6’3, 240 lbs, he’s strong framed with a sturdy base and stocky levers. At his best, the EV peaks at 106.5 mph and he’s been up to 83.2 mph with his bat speed with still maintaining balance with each swing. Defensively he’ll stick at 1B long-term and the bat will continue to carry him to the next level. Wenatchee Valley commit.
