Waukee, Iowa - On Sunday, March 3rd, Prep Baseball returns to Waukee’s SportsPlex West to host the 10th annual Prep Baseball Iowa Preseason All-State event. This invite-only event will feature over 200 prospects from the 2025 through 2027 classes, including 125+ players that are currently ranked in the state.

The premier spring event gives us an opportunity to take a closer view at a number of Iowa's top talents, along with introducing us to some under-the-radar and underclass prospects that have made considerable strides recently.

EVENT HISTORY

Last year’s Preseason All-State saw over 180 players come through the doors of SportsPlex West with multiple notable performances.

Harlan’s Cade Sears showed off notable tools including his speed after he ran a 6.38 60 -- an event record -- and also unleashed 90 MPH from the outfield. Sears later committed to South Dakota State for football but his overall athleticism was impressive at the event last year.

Maddox O’Connor ran a 6.9, maxed out at 95 during BP, and threw 93 across the diamond. The Southeast Polk infielder is at Ellsworth this spring.

TCU commit Trever Baumler put on a display where he reached 106.6 MPH in his batting practice, an event record. Baumler, a 2024 out of Dowling Catholic, is the number 4 ranked player in the state and 188th in his class nationally.

Jaron Bleeker, a right-hander out of Bishop Heelan, impressed in the spring event with a fastball that ran up to 88.2. This performance was one that earned him an invite to the Midwest Procase earlier this month where he topped out at 92 MPH. Bleeker is an Iowa commit.

LOOKING AHEAD TO SUNDAY

The 2024 Prep Baseball Iowa Preseason All-State is poised to be an electrifying event, bringing together an array of talent from across the state. With a staggering volume of ranked players in attendance, totaling 125 individuals, this showcase promises to be a big stage filled with Iowa's top prospects.

At the heart are eight athletes who have already committed to Division I programs, marking them as some of the most sought-after prospects in the country. Among them are names including Dylan England (committed to Michigan), Taitn Gray (Notre Dame), Milo Kelley (Iowa), Tucker Long (Iowa), Beau Morio (Iowa), Xavier Perez (Iowa), Tate Slagle (Iowa), and Tatem Telfer (Arkansas State). Their presence not only adds prestige to the event but also underscores the caliber of talent on display.

Moreover, the Preseason All-State will have the participation of the number one player from each graduating class. This distinction elevates the event to unparalleled heights, as it signifies the convergence of the best young talent across multiple age groups. With such a diverse and formidable lineup, attendees can expect glimpses into the future of baseball excellence.

William Nuss (2025, IF, Johnston) is one of the top uncommitted players attending the event.
