Class of 2025 - Rankings Update

Our next round of updates picks back up with the junior class, the class of 2025. Indiana's junior class currently boasts 31 players committed to play Division I baseball, with plenty more to come. This update comes just a few short months after our last, so most of the list stays intact with a handful of prospects making jumps throughout the list after a strong fall season. Read along for notes on the Top 10, along with a few key risers who find themselves in the Top 50.

Top 10 Notes

OF Brandon Logan (Fort Wayne Snider) remains at the top of the class, fresh off helping Snider to a 5A State Championship on the gridiron. One of the premier athletes & defensive centerfielders in the nation - the Vanderbilt recruit offers premium foot-speed to go along with a hit-tool that took a major step in the right direction during the 2023 season. 

A pair of arms appear next in RHP Blane Metz (Floyd Central) and LHP Caden Crowell (Valparaiso). Metz, an Indiana recruit, offers some of the best pure stuff in the class with two above-average offspeed offerings and a fastball up to 93 mph. Crowell (video below) was a hot-name throughout the fall after re-opening his recruiting process, eventually committing to Notre Dame in mid-September. The athletic southpaw experienced a tick-up in velocity at the end of the summer, climbing up to 90 mph at the Area Code Underclass Games, and has been praised for his confident demeanor and pitchability. 

The Top 6 remains unchanged with three of the state's top in-game performers in this area. 1B/OF Mason Braun was another popular uncommitted name throughout the fall, as he made his commitment to defending national champion LSU at the beginning of November after showing well at multiple national level events. SS Mason Barth (Andrean) remains in the Top 5. The Notre Dame recruit is one of the toughest outs in the class thanks to a rare mix of simplicity and strength that he carries into the right-handed batter's box. RHP Matthew Fisher (Evansville Memorial) concludes this group and is my "pick-to-click" to rise in the rankings during 2024. The Indiana recruit (video below) was outstanding in every look we had on him in 2023 - an athletic, 6-foot-3 righty with pristine arm action, college-ready pitchability, and a fastball up to 90 mph with more in the tank. 

Our lone riser in the Top 10 is RHP Parker Rhodes (Greenfield Central). The ball jumps out of the wiry, athletic, 6-foot-1, 175 pounder's hand from a low 3/4 release point and works in the low-90s on a swing-and-miss fastball with ride & run properties. The Xavier recruit offers electric arm speed to go along with a future-plus slider that works in the upper-70s with significant sweep. 

Rounding out the Top 10, we have three players that have become very familiar faces near the top of the class. OF Cal Gates (Bedford North Lawrence) has a hit-tool that rivals anyone in the class. An Indiana recruit, Gates swings an accurate barrel from the left-side of the dish and offers a well-rounded toolset that allows for consistency in all parts of his game. SS JD Stein (Carmel) had a strong fall season and the Louisville recruit remains at #9. The best defensive shortstop in the class - Stein (video below) bounces around the diamond with energy and boasts plus arm strength, near plus foot-speed, and bat-to-ball skills from the right side of the batter's box. Rounding out the Top 10 in this update is RHP/INF Collin Osenbaugh (Shenandoah). The Louisville commits owns one of the top breaking balls in the class, a mid-70s curveball with swing-and-miss traits, along with a fastball that has been up to 92 mph. Osenbaugh has some two-way prowess as a left-handed hitting infielder with some gap-to-gap strength. 

Fall Risers in the Top 50 

Alex Barr LHP / Kankakee Valley High School, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 11 / POS: 2 The 6-foot-2, 215 pound southpaw provided a loud look this fall, looking the part of a potential power-armed lefty. Barr lifts to a tall, inward turn and swings down the mound to land square, and his mobile hips power a well-sequenced delivery. The fastball jumps out of the hand at 85-87, touching 88 mph, with carry that is able to get above barrels. Barr averages 19.3" of IVB on the fastball and his riding fastball pairs well with a big, 1/7 shaped curveball that flashes sharp bite and has the makings of a future out-pitch. The Indiana recruit has starter upside and has made strides within his overall body composition.

Austin McNabb RHP / Perry Meridian , IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 18 / POS: 8 Count me in as a fan of the lanky, athletic, 6-foot-2, 170 pounder. McNabb showed an up-tick in his fastball velocity this fall, touching 88 mph, living in the mid-80s on a consistent basis. A Dayton recruit - McNabb lives in the zone, offering advanced pitchability, but the uptick in his velocity adds some electricity to the operation. McNabb has a well-sequenced delivery along with a loose, quick arm that comes from a 3/4 arm slot. The fastball jumps out of his hand with some ride/run properties and pairs well with a sharp, mid-70s breaking ball.

Joshua Flores RHP / Lake Central, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 19 / POS: 9 An athletic right-hander that put together a very strong fall season that led to his commitment to the University of Cincinnati. The 6-foot, 185 pounder attacks hitters with an athletic delivery, creating hip-to-shoulder separation, that allows for quick arm speed & he was able to climb into the low-90s with his fastball on a couple occasions this fall. Flores' sinking fastball pairs well with his best offering, his slider, a short, tight pitch that works in the low-80s and shows flashes of plus.

Kellen English RHP / North High School, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 30 / POS: 13 A projectable, 6-foot-8, 205 pound right-hander with tons to dream on - English put together a strong summer that led to an invitiation to the PBR Future Games. The fastball plays with significant ride (19 - 24" of IVB) from a high, over-the-top slot (7+ foot release height) sitting in the mid-80s (T 86 mph) with significant velocity left in the tank. English spins a slurvey, mid-70s breaking ball that shows flashes of out-pitch potential & rounds out his three-pitch mix with a mid-to-upper 70s change. Owning one of the highest ceilings in the class, English committed to Indiana University at the end of the 2023 fall season.

Brandt Kendall OF / Scottsburg, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 31 / POS: 7 A left-handed hitting OF that had a breakout fall, leading to his commitment to Ball State. An offensive weapon, Kendall offers the ability to impact the game from the left side of the dish to go along with advanced foot-speed. A 6.69 runner - Kendall shows plus bat speed (Avg 78 mph per Blast Motion) that allows for present pull-side power and a max exit velocity of 98.8 mph. Kendall shows very strong rotational capabilities that stem from an efficient lower-half within the swing. The 6-foot, 180 pounder turns the barrel with authority on a slightly uphill path to match plane, allowing for true ball flight. To go along with his impressive foot-speed in the OF, Kendall also offers above average arm strength (88 mph OF Velo).

Logan Cotton RHP / Crown Point High School, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 35 / POS: 14 A Future Gamer for Team Indiana in 2023 and an uncommitted righty with plenty to dream on. Cotton built on his Future Games performance this fall and the 6-foot-4, 195 pounder continues to trend in the right direction. Cotton's frame holds significant room for added strength and its easy to project his velocity to continue to trend upwards when considering his frame and low-effort operation on the mound. Cotton's easy effort delivery and clean arm swing allows him to compete in the strike zone at an above average clip with all three of his offerings. The projectable right-hander sits in the mid-to-upper 80s on his fastball, touching 88 mph. Cotton spins an 11/5 shaped breaking ball for strikes at 72-75 mph and rounds out his three-pitch mix with a faded changeup in the upper-70s.

Lucas Collins LHP / Bishop Dwenger, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 36 / POS: 4 A confident southpaw with an athletic, 6-foot, 180 pound frame - Collins stands as the top uncommitted lefty in Indiana's 2025 class. An athletic mover, Collins creates quality hip-to-shoulder separation within the delivery and follows with a quick arm that comes from a high 3/4 slot. His best pitch is his fastball, an 84-87 mph offering that gets swing-and-miss in the zone due to ride & run properties. Collins pairs the fastball with a mid-70s straight change - a pitch with significant upside. The left-hander from Fort Wayne spins a short, mid-70s slider to round out his three-pitch mix.

Luke Neiswonger SS/RHP / Homestead HighSchool, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 38 / POS: 5 A durable, 6-foot-2, 200 pound two-way prospect - Neiswonger had a big fall that led to his commitment to Central Michigan. The physical infielder offers present above average bat speed that translates to barrel strength & pull-side power within a simple, well-sequenced swing. Neiswonger shows fundamental actions in the dirt with enough arm strength to stick on the left-side at the college level. The arm strength translates to the mound, where the fastball sits in the mid-80s, touching 89 mph. Neiswonger has slightly above average command for a three-pitch mix - flashing a sinking change at 75-78 mph and slurvey breaking ball in the low-70s. Neiswonger is able to get swing-and-miss on the fastball over the plate and is also able to get chase on the breaking ball late in-counts.

Ivan Mastalski RHP / 1B / Andrean, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 40 / POS: 16 Upside and pitchability are the calling cards for this 6-foot-3, 200 pounder out of Andrean High School. Mastalski uses a balanced, low-effort delivery that allows him to flood the zone with a three-pitch mix. His best pitch is his sinking, mid-to-upper 70s changeup - a pitch that he has complete command of & will throw in any count. The fastball comes out of the same 3/4 slot, living in the mid-80s (T 87 mph), and it plays up due to his ability to pitch backwards & also has some run/sink action to it. Mastalski rounds out his arsenal with a low-70s breaking ball that flashes sweeping action. While there is still significant room in the frame to add lean strength, expect this strike-throwing right-hander to continue to add velocity as he matures into more strength.

Luke Riha RHP / Homestead, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 41 / POS: 17 A physical, 6-foot-2, 200 pound power-arm. Riha sits in the mid-to-upper 80s on a fastball that has been up to 90 mph, but his ability to spin a potential-plus slider is the separator. The slider works in the mid-to-upper 70s with late, sharp sweep and the pitch has made big strides compared to looks in the winter and spring. The slider tunnels out of the same window as the fastball and he is able to get chase with both pitches late in counts. The strong-armed righty also flashed a get-me-over curveball in the low-70s to show a different look and keep hitters off balance. Riha looks the part of a potential power back-end arm at the next level and committed to Toledo near the end of the 2023 fall.

Aidan Micinski RHP / John Adams, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 43 / POS: 18 Micinski performed well in front of our staff on multiple occasions throughout the fall of 2023, cementing himself amongst the top uncommitted right-handers in the class. The projectable, 6-foot-3, 160 pounder moves down the slope with athleticism, landing slightly closed, and shows balance throughout the delivery. The arm swing is quick and uninterrupted, releasing from an over-the-top slot to create carry (Avg 18"- 20" of IVB) on a fastball that works at 85-87 mph. Micinski tunnels a 12/6 shaped curveball off of the fastball, a 69-72 mph offering that plays well off of his carry fastball. Micinski flashes an upper-70s change to round out his three-pitch mix. A strike-thrower with starter upside - there is significant room for the frame to hold more strength, which should allow the fastball velocity to continously tick up.

Brad Rohde RHP / Hanover Central, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 46 / POS: 20 An imposing figure toeing the rubber at 6-foot-5, 215 pounds - Rohde offers all-kinds of upside when combining his frame and arm strength. There is some rawness in the delivery, however the arm strength allows Rohde to sit in the mid-80s on his fastball, touching 88 mph. The ball comes out of a 3/4 slot and he shows feel to spin a slurvey breaking ball in the low-to-mid 70s, also flashing an upper-70s change at times. The projectable right-hander is far from a finished product, but the combination of an above average fastball, feel for the strike zone, and a long-levered frame makes Rohde a '25 arm to follow.

Jordan Williamson SS / Pendleton heights high school , IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 50 / POS: 7 A long-limbed, athletic infielder that has been trending upwards. The 6-foot-1, 170 pounder performed well in front of our staff on multiple occasions throughout the 2023 season and his projectable frame suggests his best baseball is still yet to be played. A 6.81 runner - Williamson moves around the diamond with fluid & athletic movement patterns. On the dirt, Williamson shows long-term SS traits with fluid actions and he carries the baseball across the diamond with above average arm strength. Williamson offers a contact-oriented approach from the right-side of the dish, setting up in an athletic stance & getting the front foot down early to allow for conistent timing. The barrel turns into the hitting zone to get on-plane early and works to the inside part of the baseball. Williamson will flash gap power and I expect more to come as he adds strength to his lanky frame.
