Throughout the 2024 season Prep Baseball Scouts will be working to track and see as many games and players as possible. Each week the scouting staff will post game coverage, scout blog, player video and more.  This will be done in conjunction with Inside the Box, a daily scoreboard with select game and player highlights.

Through all the work to cover high school baseball in North Carolina, our scouting staff will be naming a player and pitcher of the week, each week of the high school regular season. Along with all the games Prep Baseball Scouts will see, cover, and examine, high school coaches will also be able to pass along information on how their players performed.  On Friday of each week, the Prep Baseball staff will contact high school coaches in North Carolina.  All players that are submitted will be considered for Player and Pitcher of the Week.

Each week Prep Baseball will open up the process to baseball fans across North Carolina.  After all the submissions were compiled, the Prep Baseball Staff selects three players.  These players' stats were posted to X and Instagram as part of a poll, where the baseball fans in North Carolina can help select the Player and Pitcher of the Week.

March 25 - April 6, 2024 Player of the Week

Cleveland HS entered their spring break looking to have a good week at the Johnston County East Invitational hosted at South Johnston HS.  Will Hicks took that thought to another level, leading the Rams to the Invitational Championship.

For the tournament, Hicks was 7-9, hitting .778 with 4 Home Runs, 7 Runs Scored, and 7 RBI.  For his efforts, Hicks was named the Johnston County Easter Invitational MVP.  The week at the tournament culminated a huge week where Hicks hit .714, going 10-14 with 5 Home Runs, a Double, 11 RBI, 10 Runs Scored and he drew 5 walks.

For the effort, Hicks was voted by fans of high school baseball in North Carolina as the Prep Baseball North Carolina Player of the Week.
