2015 Early Commits

MIF Chris Law (Knoch HS, PA)

Marizzaldi: Very athletic player, 6.9 runner with excellent feet and hands capable of playing any infield position… fundamentally sound hitter from the left side that uses whole field and shows potential as top of the order hitter… hard-nosed, high energy “dirtbag” type of player who competes at a very high level… excellent student.

PBR: Law is a 6-foot, 175-pound MIF that runs well and shows a short, compact approach from the left side of the plate. He has soft hands, and enough arm strength to remain on the left side of the infield at the next level.

OF Aaron Previsky (California HS, PA) - PBR Rank #85

Marizzaldi: Tools are at the top of the high school ladder with 6.5 speed, plus bat speed and above average arm…very high ceiling and mature player with 2 years experience with the Allegheny Pirates… very good student.

PBR: Previsky had a solid showing in all facets of the game at the 2014 Preseason All-State Showcase. The 6-foot-2, 165-pound prospect has an athletic frame with room to still fill out. He showcased his athleticism with a 4.06 home-to-1B time and fluid actions in the outfield. Previsky displayed the ability to play the ball on the move with a clean transition and accurate throws of 82 mph. The right-handed hitter utilizes a toe tap trigger from a slightly closed stance and displayed balance throughout his swing. Previsky barreled the baseball routinely with a bat exit velocity of 88 mph.

RHP Andrew Huser (Lakota West HS, OH) - PBR Rank #133

Marizzaldi: Low to mid 80’s, 3-pitch strikethrower that can sink it with a very sound & repeatable delivery… coming from elite high school and summer programs with the Cincinnati Flames…elite academic student athlete with great work ethic and character.

PBR: 6-foot, 185-pound prospect. From the outfield, he reached a top velocity of 82 mph. Long arm action with some length to his transfer. Corner outfield type. Some quickness in his arm, but will be aided by playing through the baseball and creating momentum. At the plate, he starts from a tall, narrow stance. Short stride. Slight uphill path to the ball. Top exit velocity of 89 mph. Ran a 7.44. On the mound, he sat 80-82 mph with some run. Locates well. Long, slingy type arm action. Breaking ball works on two planes at 68 mph while changeup is thrown near fastball arm speed at 73 mph. Still developing feel for the pitch.

OF/1B Cameron Gerhard (Derry HS, PA)

Marizzaldi: Very physical left-handed bat that has middle of the order and power potential at the collegiate level…good athlete with great passion and work ethic.

PBR: Gearhard is left-handed hitter with some pop in his bat and looseness to his swing. The 6-foot, 200-pound first baseman has a quiet set up and has shown consistent ability to barrel the baseball.
