TX Player & Pitcher of the Week: Week 3

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Grady Emerson SS / 2B / Argyle , TX / 2026The #1 2026 in TX had himself a week for the Argyle Eagles. The Freshman tallied nine hits in seventeen at bats, six of them for extra bases (2 HR, 4 2B). Emerson Drove in twelve runs along the way to Player of the Week honors for Week 3. |
PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Matt Lopez RHP / SS / Calallen, TX / 2024The utility player from South TX shined on the mound this past week. Over eight innings of work, Lopez struck out ten, walked none and allowed only 1 ER. He had two appearances for the Wildcats, one complete game and one win. The Wildcats always have a bunch of quality players throughout their roster, and it looks to be no different in 2023. |
