Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week: Week 8

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

Cort Lowry RHP / FRANKLIN H S, TX / 2024Rankings StateRank: 184 / POS: 60
The Tarleton Signee had a big week at the plate for the Lions. in 8 at bats, he had 6 hits, including 3 home runs and a triple. He ended the week with 8 runs batted in for Franklin as they finished the week 3-0. The Senior is ranked 184 in the state and continues to have a solid season at the plate.

Dillon Brandt RHP / Jesuit Dallas, TX / 2025Rankings StateRank: 124 / POS: 34
Brandt struck out 17 of the 26 batters he faced during a complete game shut out where he only allowed 3 hits and 1 walk. The Penn commit led the Rangers to an 8-0 win as they try to stay hot as the playoffs approach.
