Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 9 (April 15-April 20).

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Joephillip Guzman 2B / SS / Shoemaker, TX / 2025 The Alabama State commit had a big week for Shoemaker. The SS had 7 hits in 7 AB's, including a double, a triple, and a home run. He drove in 9 runs and swiped 3 bags aling the way as well. This week continues his monster season where he is batting .552, with 32 RBI, 21 stolen bases, 3 home runs, and only 1 strikeout.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Dasan Hill LHP / LHP / Grapevine, TX / 2024 Rankings  StateRank: 9 / POS: 2 OverallRank: 27 / POS: 6 Hill got the start against the #11 ranked Argyle Eagles last week. He went 6.1 Innings and struck out 10 while allowing no hits. The DBU recruit led the Mustangs to a big win to split the series against Argyle.
