The Pleasant Grove stud two way guy, has been a force in the lineup in carrying the Vikings to the #1 spot in the Power 20 rankings on the heels of a 16-0 record! His uncle Mickey was 3rd in the nation in hitting at Southern Utah in 1993, and was my roommate in junior college. Derek is a lean athletic and raw athlete from a small school, that has some molding of his game to do, but he has advanced hand/eye to make consistent hard contact. His above avg MLB arm is an asset behind the plate and in RF. Has been a big reason and addition, to why the Skyline Eagles program has made a resurgence at 13-5 under Head Coach Eric Morgan. JANZEN KEISELRHP / SS / GUNNISON VALLEY, UT / 2021PBR Super 60 Participant BYU Commit Keisel has been putting up incredible number all spring and has 20+ RBI's over the last two weeks and is having on of the top 2-3 individual position player numbers in the state. But it's his right arm that drew the attention of BYU and is drawing attention of MLB scouts. Keisel who sits 91-93 mph with his FB, and has been as high as 95 at the PBR Super 60 in February. Newman and his mid-80's FB, looks to gain added velocity in time, just as his older brother has experienced. Oregon State commit The well built and lean athletic RHP with the upper 80's FB that touched 88 going into the 8th grade. Was offered by an in state D1 school, the fall of his 8th grade year. A slight break of his elbow during the basketball season, kept him on the sidelines to start the season, but he has now caught his stride, and took down Bingham, and the sky is the limit for the #1 ranked player in the state, when rankings come out in a few days.
