Unsigned Senior Showcase: Preview

By Illinois Scouting Staff

Annually, right around the start of winter workouts and a few months before the first pitch of the high school season, the PBR Illinois and Wisconsin staffs team up to host the winter’s Unsigned Senior Showcase at The MAX sports facility in McCook, Ill., taking place on Sunday, Jan. 13.

This event is open to any and all members of the Class of 2019 seeking out opportunities to play at the next level who have yet to secure that commitment.

This year, the Unsigned Senior Showcase has around 50 prospects set to attend, and registration is still open. Looking back at 2018’s winter event, 26 prospects who attended that showcase have since gone on to play at schools like Wisconsin-Whitewater, Quincy University, as well as a handful of other programs that surround the area.

This week, we’ve been highlighting some of the prospects set to attend Sunday’s showcase, like Nathan Sanchez (Lakeview) and Grant Baker (South Elgin), but it’s clear that they won’t be the only names we’re familiar with come the weekend. Lincoln-Way Central’s Kyle Labedz, Normal Community’s Logan Fricker, and Glenbard South’s John McMahon are just a few more names to take note of ahead of the showcase.
